how do you get enough light for the sarracenia? that sounds impossible. i want to know the lights oyu are use ing so i can grow something iinside. that light there doesnt look much, so i guess you have a new type?

Its not bladderworts, just a regular moss (it cames naturally).

about 350-400€ I think..

But due to the cooling system, i made it more expensive. You could make the same (without refrigeration) for only ~220€ if you do it well.

Cool, je compte faire mon premier "tourbarium" :] bientôt. Je vais me choper un brumisateur a ultrason aussi, je t'ai trouvé bien inspiré pour ta déco. Question: Est-ce que tu contrôle le ph de la flotte et rajoute de l'acide? Tu mets de l'eau distillée direct?

Oui de l'eau déminéralisée direct, et je ne contrôle pas le ph.

Avec de la tourbe et de la sphaigne, c'est forcément acide de toute façon! :)

haha, nan ca va, le compresseur fait juste un petit peut de bruit (comme un frigo quoi...).

Dans cette video c'est winamp qui fait une ambiance jungle tropicale.

J'ai fait une sorte de petit mur anti-bruit, et ca marche assez bien, on entends presque plus rien rien.

De plus je m'endors toujours en musique, ca couvre :)

Can I ask you what kind of lighting are you using ? On my set up I have about 200 watts for a 10 gal tank. no light is more then a foot away from the plants.

I thought you needed way more lighting to keep your plants alive. You set up looks great but im in doubt that it will be alive long with that little bit of light.

plants (particulary the sarracenia) become red, very deep red. So I think its okay by now. :)

those plants grow in montains, in a cold climate. So I have to simulate this!

The whole price is about 350-400€ (I have found the refirigerator in a "dump", so it was free, but it works perfectly!)

two tubes 55w each? not enough and not nearly enough for the Sarracenia Purpurea. If you want that plant to reach its full potential take it out of that terrarium and outside in full hot direct sun. I really doubt the light intenseity is even enough for the Cape sundews. If there growing good then forget what I said but a healthy robust Sarracenia Purpurea should be a nice bright red. If you think your climate is to hot or cold I find it unlikely unless you cant get them to go dormant. Cool vid.

The cape sundews unless they are the kind with zero red color they should have red tentecles. I dont know how pro you are with carnivourous plants but I just dont see that Purpurea getting anywhere in there.

voila c'est ca, une sorte de jardin en boite ^^

a un moment je me tatais pour mettre aussi un animal (bernard l'ermite terrestre, triton, triop ...), mais les dejection font de l'engrais, et les plantes carnivores n'aiment pas ca...

A la limite, des crevettes ca pourrait le faire... oopa :P

A Paris ya une boutique qui s'appelle TAKA qui en vend pas mal.

sinon dans certains magasin si t'es chanceux, par exmple les magasins de bricolage ou simplement les jardinerie, mais elles sont pas tres bien entretenues, alors faut acheter juste apres leur récéption!

pour en trouver des un peu plus rare il faut aller sur la correspondance... Les pays a l'est sont assez bon la dedans, meme l'allemagne ya pas mal de choses.

pour trouver les sites, bah google est ton ami ^^
