Would you be surprised if i told you he hated the water as a kid. His dad forced him into it and his unique technique was taught by a Russian coach. I myself use this technique (try to) and many people at my local pool have asked me how i swim so effortlessly.

I agree with you that Popov's record is valid. But, damn, you're pretentious in your use of language. Are you trying to sound smart? I understand every one of your words, but why don't you simply use normal English. "Nole prosequi:" haha; this is not a court of law. And your use of discombobulate is wrong. Details can be confused, but they cannot be discombobulated; people can be discombobulated.

The Popov WR record of 21.64 is bogus. It was done in a "Time Trial" at the Russian Nationals(not a real race -- a set-up), and most importantly it was done without a swimmer on either lane or either side of him.
