The movie was inspired by Robert Alan Weiss' 1971 cult classic, "Protein Synthesis: An epic on the cellular level." This is directly from the description of the video, and yes this is a re-make of that same video just in a modern sense which honestly makes the video a lot more accurate and applicable to teaching genetics now.

Just to let you know, the summer class of Genetics at USF also needs people to watch this video as well, the more people that watch means obviously more extra credit for this class. This is no doubt the best scientific teaching video I have ever seen, so I do not think it will be a tough sell.

Hmmm. DNA is transcribed into RNA. RNA is translated into proteins. Proteins are essential to organisms because they participate in every process in cells. Proteins makes us.
