The Cure were quite easily my favourite band for many years when I was a teenager. I still believe "Pornography" is one of the best albums of all time. Unfortunately they became a caricature of themselves and I could no longer take them seriously. Up to "The Top" they were the greatest but after that they were toss.

I find it strange that The Cure fire a lot of their members(Andy,Lol,Roger,Perry,)­. I agree with firing the former two but what was wrong with Roger and Perry?

Well, Roger and Porl never got along, for one thing. For another, it was time for a change of sound. I think the lineup now is damn near perfect and I will take Porl's amazing guitar playing over anything Roger can do any day!

Robert Smith is the greatest music composer ever. Porl is quite possibly the greatest guitarist of all time and Simon and Jason are both masters, mix it all together and you get true musical genius. The only thing wrong with this award is that it is about 25 years late!

I agree wholly with this! But I just have one disagreement: Jason isn't a master, but he is acceptable, but it should be Boris that's being called a master; because he truly is one!

I agree that Boris is much better than Jason. However, Robert did choose Jason so let's just agree that he is somewhere between better than a session drummer and less than a Boris Williams. We cannot question God's, oops!...I mean Roberts plan.

Lol very very true. That makes me think of Lol. . . . He was a very good drummer and keyboardist before he became such a drunk he was fired. Jason is very good at playing the Cure's most recent music, but in some older music it's not as good, because his drumming is very different from Lol's, Andy's, and Boris's.

The reason we don't like his drumming on the old songs is because he plays in a different style to their previous drummers. Their newer music has alot more... pounding in their precussion i believe (forgive the crude terminology, I'm not a drummer myself) but when they play their older songs, I admit i quite like how he plays them but it sounds different. And since over-zealous fans are clingy complaining dipshits who are never thankful for any evolution a band makes it all gets very hostile.
