My husband,, Johnny Terry served on the Hanson 1965-1968. He passed away Nov. 8m 2010. If anyone served with him, I would be so happy to hear from you.
If you are into this stuff I highly recommend visiting the National Archives Photographic and Motion Picture & Sound divisions in College Park, MD. Take an easy test in the morning and spend the day viewing old footage. I found some great stuff there about a different destroyer, and every ship is represented.
Kent... Do you remember a Danny Hill? He was my father. He was on the USS Hanson in 65-66. My middle name is "Hanson" as my father was on the USS Hanson when I was born in 9/66. Always been curious about the "tin can I was named after". I very much enjoyed this video. Thanks Marty!
