  • i need new earphones :)

  • YES! love it, this is the way jetliners are supposed to sound LOUD on the outside during take off and landing, dont get me wrong i like the Airbuses and other modern jets but there is nothing like the 737-200,727 and DC-9!

  • You can almost feel the rumble of the ground!

  • This is definitely an older variant looking at the shape of the engines, the newer models like the one Southwest flies are round and cylindrical engines, that most people are familiar with.

  • I am very familiar with these aircraft because Southwest and Alaska only fly 737s.

  • Beautiful!

  • The JT8D has just the best engine sound ever!!

  • @Antanorbray I like the Boeing 717 engines more in my opinion.

  • @Antanorbray RB211 :)

  • @Antanorbray I can not agree... Kuznetzov NK-8-2U and Soloviev D-30-KU 154 do make a beautiful sound.

  • i love the crackling sound @ 1:13 its very nice , it would reming one of the real jet age. but im tglaqd i wasnt there , i remember those old birds at dublin years ago they had BAC 1-11`s at the time by jeez they were loud.

  • @stfergus608 I flew on one of their 1-11s.... i feel lucky.

  • @Iamfukenripped god nor large amounts of money would not get me on one of those planes.your a brave man.

  • Wow, i'm so used to the 737-800. The 200 edition is so cute :D

  • They still have these i see them at my airport all the time

  • @DingusHead4554 probably not the 732-200 but the -300 ,-500 or -800

  • @rumbumsidum well i saw one tht looks like this one just the other day

  • It does not meter if it is old. It is gorgeous. Lu

  • I've flown their 737. 747 and 1-11 sims :)

  • Please post more 737-200 in HD

  • i love 737-200 thrust reverser but its engines is to small designed for short flights and for me that aircraft is Dangerous! Vintage!

  • It's amazing. They don't make a powerful plane like that anymore. How to fly on it again? Is there any company using 737-200? That was amazing when we could feel flying. Luciano Buarque

  • @valdas7777 there will be some place using these birds I recon ... weather or not you or i will ever fly on one is very unlikely... .I flew on once, A ryan air 737 ... and unfortunately it was the worse experience ever cos it was ooooold....... and scruffy inside..

  • You-are-peeing (European) ahahahaha

  • Love those JT8D's :D

  • soo old... this was prob built in 1960's or 1970s

  • It accelerated very quickly compared to modern 737's

  • ..great impressions of ideas...

    best greatings, filmbike galacom.TV CharityFilmProduction

...the first Moutainbike in the world for human rigths without borders...

    Mr.WinMore

  • Gotta love that sound!!!!

  • wow, nice racism by the europeans towards asians?"!?

  • the best plane ever! :D

  • Essa turbina arrepia os amantes de aviacao e de se emocionar

  • é o melhor de se pilotar da séria 737!

  • best airplane ever made ! for what i can see this is a truly 200 not a 200adv :O ! AWESOME !

  • este avion en mi pais fue apodado cariñosamente como "el chanchito", era un verdadero caballito de batalla

  • i love the reverse thrusters on this plane they are so cool!

  • screw the noise regulations!!! this is how jet should sound : )

  • @myR12006 Remember how the Delta 737-200's used to sound?

  • This Is What I Call The Starting Of The Jet Age, Go Boeing

  • I was pretty lucky when it came to 732s. I flew on one of Aloha's 'Funbirds' back in '08. It was a flight to remember! I'm really going to miss those good old JT8Ds, too. The last time I heard them was when I flew with Japan Air Lines on an MD-81.

  • @TsugaruPilot I went on a ryanair 732 :( it was aweful lol... but at least i got to fly on one.. it wasnt the planes fault that the wings were like stained with oil and the cabin was digracefully filthy and stunk like crap :I. the best classic bird i ever flew on and i feel so lucky too was a BAC 1-11 500 of the same airline as this 737.

  • man that took off quick!!

  • Love 732,..;DD

  • THIS is how the engines should be hear...

  • AWESOME!!! Nice to hear those engines from outside the plane.

  • Thumbs up if you want those engines back! But more fuel efficient.

  • Nice little pocket rocket

  • @iwantpk2 747 and a340 are classics! 747-100 a340-500 they're all old.

  • Thankyou for posting i used to work as a steward on the 737 200 ! It was like a rocket taking off , especially if you were working down the back! The plastic covers on the windows used to shake creaing more noise !! Loved this little a/c

  • @iwantpk2 But MORE MODERN planes contribute to fuel economy

  • @Nat2370 "TREE HUGGERS" is what there called. jk, but ye. thats my opinion

  • The 8D in JT8D is the face that everyone makes when they hear one of those bad boys spool up on the take-off roll!

  • Used to love the sound of my favourite plane.Sometimes the engines used to "crackle" on take off.

  • a rare bird in europe these days, nice tho!

  • hey hey, where u goin????

  • looks like a gas guzzler with this low-bypass engines

  • Why does the 200 have different engines than a 100/300/400/500/600/700/800?

  • @LukRacer because the 100/200 were the launch models. the 300/400 came along a few years later with newer engines. the 5/6/7/8/900 are all in the 737NG and have better engines. Progress

  • @hirsty1979 Uhm, yeah i know that but why is the shape diffrent?

  • the older engines are awesome roooaaarrrrr !!!!!!

  • gotta love the JT8D sound jeje

  • OMG!!!! The 737-200 engines is long enough!!! And i love the sound!!!

  • I flew the Boeing 737-100s in the early 70s that were operated by Continental, but never a 737-200

  • @dilubabaya Was there a difference between the 100 and 200 series?

  • @xTomcatsForeverVF84x yeah shorter body length!!!!!!

  • @xTomcatsForeverVF84x The 100s carried about 100 passengers, whereas the 200 carried more (in the 120s, I think). There where only 30 -100s made, all of which, ended up with Lufthansa. There are non in service

  • Ear-Busting!!! I absolutely adore it. The 732 is awesome.

  • Crosswind Take-Off

  • Love the sound of old engines

  • Love the sound of old engines

  • 737-200 is a workhorse. I've flown on many Lufthansa 737s back in the 80s. I always sat behind the engines so I could hear the stupendous roar of the JT-8s.

  • El mejor sonido lejos, los motores del 200, q rapido q despego, a very quickly take off!!! best engines!!! lovely sound

  • the engines look too small....lol

  • Very very beautiful sound!! I love the 737-200's engine's sound!!

  • I like the music of the JT's!!!!!!

  • Interesting sounding engines (but doesn't beat the DC-10 by a longshot), however I HATED flying on those things. Haven't been on a 737-200 since 1986 and I am damned glad about it.

  • I remember flying with European Air Charter in 2003 ironically it was a 737 200 lovely aircraft

  • is it company for aircharter or the name or airline (aircharter .

  • gold old jt8 p&w

  • Thanks for that beautiful sound.

  • It did sound good on my end! Thanks for sharing that awesome video!

  • It really is too bad that no one has made a FSX model with a VC for the flight sim. That would be fun to fly! Great sound, I live just south of Chicago Midway and you can still tell the maddogs apart with their JT8D's departing from O'hare! That sound reminds me of a rocketship or the early German Fighters!

  • SGA makes a good 737-200 but with no VC but it has wing view, I also use the TSS 737 sound its worth it! sounds just like this!

  • That is true, but there is no one out there with a decent VC for FSX.

  • ya no kidding, there's a 707,727 but know 732. Owell just gonna have to wait till some one makes one.

  • Well, if you are talking about the freeware 707 with the VC. It is unbelievable how much of a turd the thing is. Even the model of the airplane does not even look like a circle but more or less an octagon and along with the texturing is way off. The only 727 that is decent looking outside the generic versions, is the CaptainSim but even so it is a frame rate hog with the uneccary full cabin and excess animations. In my opinion they NEED to make an accurate model before they all stop flying.

  • The 737 200 an Absolutley fantastic classic aircraft that will be sadly missed,as they are now all starting to be phased out with alot of airline companies who have them :(

  • since november, this great planes dont fly anymore in argentina

  • Are these engines pure jet, or are they a turbofan? Never seen them before.

  • They are turbofans by the old definition. The newer ones have huge fans compared to these (for better efficiency)which make a much different sound...I had forgotten how much I miss these old ones.

  • I flew one of this ONCE with US Air just before they were going out of style in the US. Smoother takeoff/landing in some respects than the -400.

  • ужасный сарай...=(

  • dude get a fucken life, you post that in every thread moron

  • JT8D Great Sound Engine.

  • 737-200 olympic!

  • I live near Heathrow Airport and often used to confuse the sound of these planes for the concorde...that's how loud they were. I miss them, but my neighbourhood is a little quieter these days...

  • I wish they where allowed to go straight up like this at my local airport.

  • The engines' sound is phenomenal. Not sure how many of these can be seen these days. Love it!

  • This one needs to be made for FSX with a decent Virtual Cockpit, so far, there is no good 3rd party model for this plane. Excellent sound set, love the whine and the jet blast!

  • my favorite jetliner... timeless classic !

  • Reminds me of Alaska Airlines old -200 combis "mud hens" blasting off out of SEA. I miss the whine and cracklin burner cans of the JT8D's.

  • They've managed to keep an old plane looking pretty new.. If only my country could keep even new planes that clean... If only.

  • is there crosswind or is it just the angle?

  • Heavy crosswind i think.

  • music!!!!!!!!!

  • this plane was made in 1974

  • omg the 737-200 engines are so scary

  • @10Kingboy10 Why?

  • @Tabby266 i am afraid of old things

they are just creepy, cuz they are loud and if it breakes then it would be very very scary!

  • @10Kingboy10 JT8 Whitney Engines, classic. Not scary

  • @NIGHTWHMAN i mean da sound...

  • @10Kingboy10 I know what you meant lol

  • @10Kingboy10 those old engines were the best engines ever made compared to the new ones if you had any trouble you could fix it... now one problem and screw it ! D=

  • @10Kingboy10 hahaha

  • The grand father of 737 family... only the best.

  • man it sounds like it has an afterburner haha.. just a classic beauty

  • i like 200 engine...classic way to fly....

  • What's the difference between 738 & 732 ?

  • 732 the old Verision with JTD-8 engine

    short to mediuem range

    short air frame

738 the newst Virsion its came with CFM 56-7B27 engine and its meduiem to long range and its bigger then 732

  • 739 is the newest.

  • 732 s re almost 30 to 38 years old :) 738 s maximum 10 years

  • man those engines are long..

  • this is one of the best aircraft in the world.

  • Wow, that's a wonderful plane. I don't know if 737-200s are flying now. I love this one. Lu

  • i like this song ! very cool!!

  • i love the smoke trails

  • Eu adoro!!!

  • Oh those sound AMAZING!!! Like a rocket or something. I didn't know they still used -200's with the older engines.

  • the -200s have to use the JT8Ds. there isn't enough clearance for the CFM56s

  • Didn't know that. Thanks for the info :D

  • It´s not a matter of clearance, curdle1, it´s about viability. Market´s 737 price currently is ridiculous. It simply not worth to invest 800% or 900% of aircraft value only to retrofit its engines. By the way: both aircrafts 100/200/300/400/500 - got the same clearance. The differences resides on the engine itself (CFM56-3), the pylon and accessories gearbox (see Boeing 737 on wikipedia) that, together, provides the necessary clearance.

  • you might be correct about the economic reasons for not using the CFM56-3, but there is no way the 100/200 have the same ground clearance as the classics/NGs.

The CFM56 is so much further forward than the JT8D because of ground clearance. And there still wasn't enough clearance because the engine nacelles are flattened at the bottom. The landing gear was even extended. Take a look at the Boeing 737 Technical Site. It is much more reliable than Wikipedia. b737 (.) org (.)uk

  • Hence why the 737-300/400/500's with CFM56-3b engines have the flat bottom on the engine cowling.

  • Great vid, I flew with European 3 years ago, there was a big delay, but food was delicious and plane was comfortable! Thanks for uploading this piece of gold! Man, I LOVE that engine sound!

  • nice

  • Pratt-Whitney JT8D = Best engine ever made!

  • yeah and the engin have the best sound!! ;D

  • Remember when United, USAir, Delta, NW used to have 727's, oh man those were the days

  • Yes, I do love the sound of those reliable JT-Ds... Matter of fact, I miss that sound on the Southwest Airlines ramp!!! :(

  • Thats it thats the sound only when you where stood there at the pub just by 24 right and those babies powered up you could feel it in your chest, like something bubbling inside lol i remember back in the 90s that sound and feeling clearly, and the old BA landor ones, I also flew with EUROPEAN some 13 years ago on a BAC 1-11. gr8 vid thanx 4 postin.
