Nice job with the video and foley work. I followed your link from craigslist while looking for local video stuff for sale. I've had a HMC150 for over a year now. Nice cam for the price.
This is really cool! My only complaint is that the gun was not represented in a realistic fashion. it was hard for me to suspend my disbelief when he fired three shots in rapid succession from a lever action rifle. Cycling the action of a lever rifle takes a moment, generally no where near as fast as we hear in the film. The only reason I mention this is because I think the work you did here is excellent.
fav video by far, but i was wondering im thinking about spending evry dime i have on a panasonic ag hmc150, and i was wondering if thats really what u used for this video? and if so how did you get it to look so cinematic?
This looks super awesome. Would you mind listing all the settings you used in your Scene File in order to achieve this effect? I've tried tweaking it numerous times and just can't get it quite right. Thanks.
Yeah, that kind of stinks. There are like, three "stock film-look" settings on the HMC150, and none of them have achieved anything close to this result for me, so I'm kind of scratching my head here. Oh well.
there wasnt any dept of F in this. looked like a camcoder with a wide lens. shaking at the start is one of those issues of hd...it doesnt like moving . this video turns me of the product which is unfair as you are just making a vid abt it. thanks for your efforts.

Nope. Just the stock lens. :) Would love to use an adapter. Too spendy though. I'd rather wait until they start making HD cams more like SRL's that shoot video.
reply to your last comment, not sure what you ment but... DSLR's .... that shoot video like the 7D will not be as capable and as functional or optional as your camera or other higher end HD ENG cameras, they will just have good HD quality and the already 35mm lens for the camera... that's it.
but wanted to know if you used any magic bullet color coding or if manually color coded the video yourself
Fabulous guys, this looks fantastic. Well good to see this video and owning that camera as well. Makes me feel wonderful lol, thanks a million, and keep it going.
Wow! That looked absolutely great! It's amazing what talented people can do with cameras these days. I think I'll look into getting the HMC150 for my videos/films. Did you use any specific lenses as well, or just the standard lens?
The Message scene of the camera was great but it was too clear to look like it was a broadcast i recommend you add some small pixelation and grain noise the moving bar thing( i forgot what it was called) is abit fake like you should consider removing it. I'm not a critic ive done this before but in all everything was 5/5
How did you do that effect when hes sitting there with blood on his face? Was this done in after effects? If it as stock any where you could point me in buying it? Iv been needing this effect for one of my horror films
Yeah, I understand. You are very talented both. You should work in the industry. I liked the picure angles, as well the edit work, and the right cuts. What program was used here, beside the Cinelook filters and magic bullet? Sony Vegas? Thanks.
OK! I have this camera but the 24p looks fake! whats going on! why yours looks so film like!??
My video looks like its strobing with double images.. blur.. I hate fake 24p
Can you explain what did you do to the camera, are u' using a lotus, etc..
I have tried all the 24p setting 1080/24p 720/24p.. Just does not look film like your video..!! Maybe is the software I'm using that it is introducing blur..
I talking about the frame rate ! not the filters.. My videos have too much blur that looks like its slowmotion specially when panning.. The film speed I want Looks very fake at 24p..
Be glad to help. Can you upload some footage for me to see and example of it?
I am not using a letus. Does the 24p look faky on the camera or after you export it in editing? which? What is the frame rate you have selected for the project? is it a 24p timeline?
they were coming fake after rendering.. I found the problem.. my project was set to the same properties of the video but the HD MP4 on Vegas is only 25p and that makes some horrible double images and kills the film frame rate that I wanted.
I will upload an example of a bad render.. Here is a better render using the 23.9 3-2 pulldown. "AG-HMC 150 1080p 24fps 3 2 pulldown HD " on my channel..
thanx! but the blur of the actual object in motion is not my problem but the echo created when rendering with a mismatch setup on the editor and the video itself..
EX: I had a 24p video been render in a
25p preset of vegas and I was not paying attention to that.. when I moved the video frame by frame, I could see the natural blur of the object in motion and a ghost right behind it (Double Image). That was driving me MAD. I got the problem under control now. Now my pans are crisp.
Huh, in that case, can't wait to see something that you actually tried on, lol.
So are you happy with this camera? I'm looking into getting a new one, and this one is kind of on the list, it's just 4 times more expensive than I'd like to spend, haha.

If anyone watching this is considering buying the HMC150 ;
first look at one of the M4/3 cameras for same (or better) quality on the cheap...
more compact plus they give great stills.
(They produce great Depth of field focus ....very hard to accomplish with any camcorde.).
