God seeing this completely reminded me why I never liked SG anything..right from the beginning. I truely mourn the loss of good sci fi for likes of this. Granted, it was orginal, but good god...it...just sucks. Cancel Firefly, Babylon 5, then hey, lets promote remakes! V, Battlestar...SG. It really makes my stomach churn.

I Don't Undestand why the US Air Force in movie don't used a fighters as F 15 or F16 and F 18 and F 22 Raptor they are fast and can destroy the anubis fighters on earth and there UAV

in the Movie Skyline the UAV were to use for destroy the aliens ships

the F 302 Are beautiful and it a technoligical marvel but in the movie they are not a lot to defend a earth !!!

I'm suprised that earth aircraft weren't scrambled. Heck those space ships would give out a huge radar signature. Heck the Promethus communications is operating on military frequencies. Why didn't anyone pick that up?

You do realize that the world's MILITARIES are plenty aware of the Stargate program by this point, right? This is the end of Season 7, by which point the IOA has already been formed, the Atlantis Expedition has already started (barely), and nations as far and wide as Russia, Canada and the Czech Republic (Zelenka's home nation) are part of the Gate Alliance Treaty.

Exactly what power do you expect would know about an Antarctic battle that isn't already aware of the SGC?

@Catamount1412 That being case why wasn't there a larger show of force from Earth's militaries? All we saw was the Prometheus and the F302s. We're talking an Earth invasion fleet of here. Wouldn't the other countries have noticed the aliens coming down in force?

From what airbase? Even the fastest planes we have, cruise-wise, can barely hit Mach 1 without afterburners, and they're all stationed in the Northern Hemishpere. The closest response force would be Australia's 59 F-18Es. Even with constant refueling, it would take hours to get there (and consider time to decide to deploy their ENTIRE air force). It's not like there's a KC-135 onhand between Australia and Antartica anyways, so you'd have to fly with the refueler (slow).

It also wasn't known until SG-1 arrived in the cargo vessel that the weapon's platform was IN Antarctica, so there would be no reason to even attempt to deploy forces there.

As a result, once the site of battle was known, the only thing that would have been remotely fast enough to reach that place would have been F-302s and America's single operational X/BC-303 (Prometheus). There was nothing TO respond with.

I don't think it was a waste of drones, it was probably a message by O'Neil to the rest of the villains who might think of trying to knock over the Earth... "Look, but don't touch." (I mean, even if the zpm was depleted, even if there aren't as many drones left, if you were a villain, would YOU want to test your luck against that kind of firepower?)

They did not waste alot of drones. They used them to destroy anubis fleet so not wasted
