Personally, I thought this movie had good acting but an unclear message. Angela shows us that safe sex is better to promote because we can't stop everyone from doing it, we can only help them do so safely. So what message are the movie makers trying to give the audience, that we should all become abstinent or we should go out and have sex but do so safely? I didn't know what to think of the plot overall, because the message isn't clear.
What they obviously imply is that : People are going to do it and some people don't do it. So, if you are then be safe and get the facts straight. If you aren't then that's OK too. Also they are making fun of the school systems curricular on the subject because back then when they first started heath class that's exactly what they did. They lied about it all. They said you're going to get pregnant the first time, have an STD the first time, and die.
The message is: just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean you should. It's not that it's okay or not okay, if you love the guy/girl go right ahead but it's your decision and if you get pregnant at the age of 12 you can say it's not the guy's fault you chose to do it yourself.
