Carcillo has really come a long way with his talent without compromising his edge. I feel like he could the the Cam Neely of the Flyers if he keeps improving his game. You have to love his intensity and the way he plays the game. He keeps every other player on the same level and doesn't make any exceptions. I think he's an incredible asset to not only the Flyer's lineup, but to the games roots as well.

Carcillo's fighting style was effective, yes, but it was taking advantage of Fraser in a lame way. Carcillo didn't have anything to prove to the Flyers in the preseason. In contrast, Fraser felt he had to fight. He's played in only 7 NHL games and he was trying to prove that he can hold his own in the NHL. Carcillo knew this, and he knew that Fraser would fight him no matter what. He took advantage of this position by forcing Fraser to make the first move.

He just sits there and waits and forces Fraser, who has to fight to prove himself, into a weak position. Carcillo knew that Fraser needed to fight to prove himself, and he too advantage of that by forcing him to make the first move and put himself into a vulnerable position. Then, he twisted his head all the way around so that Fraser had no way to land a punch. He then twirled and threw one punch, which luckily for him connected. He obviously won the fight, but he did it in a weak way.

Fraser did not make "rook mistakes". What were his mistakes? He had to move in, or else the refs would have broken up the fight before it even took place. Carcillo was content with letting that happen. He had nothing to prove. If Fraser let that happen he would have looked like a joke to the coaching staff. He was fighting for a spot on the team, so he couldn't let that happen.
I understand that it was Carcillo's advantage to fight the way he did. I understand that his fighting style was, ultimately, successful. But he took advantage of Fraser who needed to prove himself. What Carcillo should have done is treat it like any other fight. Go in aggressive and throw some punches, not play it like a chess match, waiting for the guy who needs to fight to put himself in a vulnerable position. Again, I can tell that this is simply too subtle of an aspect of the game for you to understand. Weak does not equal bad. Bad is an extremely generic term which doesn't really say anything. His strategy in the fight could be described as "good", instead of "bad", as a matter of fact, since he won. But it's still weak that he took advantage of Fraser the way he did. Carcillo has really come a long way with his talent without compromising his edge. I feel like he could the the Cam Neely of the Flyers if he keeps improving his game. You have to love his intensity and the way he plays the game. He keeps every other player on the same level and doesn't make any exceptions. I think he's an incredible asset to not only the Flyer's lineup, but to the games roots as well.

Carcillo's fighting style was effective, yes, but it was taking advantage of Fraser in a lame way. Carcillo didn't have anything to prove to the Flyers in the preseason. In contrast, Fraser felt he had to fight. He's played in only 7 NHL games and he was trying to prove that he can hold his own in the NHL. Carcillo knew this, and he knew that Fraser would fight him no matter what. He took advantage of this position by forcing Fraser to make the first move.

Anyway, to get back to the original argument. I still stand by my statements. Carcillo knew that Fraser needed to fight to prove himself, and he too advantage of that by forcing him to make the first move and put himself into a vulnerable position. Then, he twisted his head all the way around so that Fraser had no way to land a punch. He then twirled and threw one punch, which luckily for him connected. He obviously won the fight, but he did it in a weak way.

yes he did it in a weak way. let the rookie play a rookie mistake by lunging in and trying to land the first punches, saw an opening, connected (which the keyboard critic says was now a lucky punch), and dropped the rookie. but because fraser was new to the league the keyboard critic feels carcillo should have not fought smart and won the fight with a TKO, but given the rookie something else entirely and made the fight easier. is that what youre saying keyboard critic?

Fraser did not make "rook mistakes". What were his mistakes? He had to move in, or else the refs would have broken up the fight before it even took place. Carcillo was content with letting that happen. He had nothing to prove. If Fraser let that happen he would have looked like a joke to the coaching staff. He was fighting for a spot on the team, so he couldn't let that happen.

I understand that it was Carcillo's advantage to fight the way he did. I understand that his fighting style was, ultimately, successful. But he took advantage of Fraser who needed to prove himself. What Carcillo should have done is treat it like any other fight. Go in aggressive and throw some punches, not play it like a chess match, waiting for the guy who needs to fight to put himself in a vulnerable position. I see that you agree with me though, that he won in a weak way. So we agree.

Again, I can tell that this is simply too subtle of an aspect of the game for you to understand. Weak does not equal bad. Bad is an extremely generic term which doesn't really say anything. His strategy in the fight could be described as "good", instead of "bad", as a matter of fact, since he won. But it's still weak that he took advantage of Fraser the way he did. I'm not saying I could fight him, I'm not saying I'm a good fighter. That's irrelevant. I'm saying his strategy was cheap.
