Watch Kirkland vs. Angulo. The 1st round Angulo's style looked like Diaz's MMA style - he backed Kirkland against the ropes & threw combos nonstop - nearly dropping Kirkland with body shots. But he gassed out - Diaz wouldn't gas out. He could go at that pace for 10 or 12 rounds. Diaz would beat Kirkland in boxing... no doubt in my mind. If a boxer ever faught a mixed martial artist in the street this is how it would go: they would both get in thier stances. The boxer would stand straight up becuase he is not expecting the leg kick or the double leg shot. Boxer throws a punch, mma guy ducks and shoots for double leg, picks him up and drills him into the pavement. Then he would mount the boxer and choke him to sleep or pound his conciousness into the next dimension.

Well of course a boxer would get beat by an MMA champion if that was their first fight. MMA isn't that hard, you don't need a particular skill set to succeed in MMA. Just look at Dos Santos, as he said, "Boxing is my life", how many times does he go to the ground? If a boxer learns how to defend take downs like him and had a mediocre ground game they'd annihilate any MMA fighter, they have twice the power, speed, footwork, and chin of Dos Santos.

lol Anderson Silva would get destroyed against a B Level boxer. You don't understand boxing at all, boxing teaches you how to throw a punch properly something Silva can't do. It teaches you how to use head movement to dodge punches and set up punches, how to literally time ALL of your opponents punches, how to eliminate your movement before a punch which is called "telegraphing a punch" which is what ALL MMA fighters do, how to use footwork to stay on the outside/inside...
It's incredibly difficult. Boxers can't even throw their hardest punch because they won't land it. If you fuck up once on a SINGLE punch there is a good chance you'll be KO'd. Green would KO Silva within 5 rounds.
Oh and in Silva's 2nd boxing fight he looked like shit against some guy 20lbs and 5 inches shorter than him, Silva was getting countered a lot he was slow and had NO defense at all and this was against a guy that was making his pro debut.
Silva won the fight but looked extremely unimpressive, this was right after he KO'd Griffin as well.
In MMA you can punch and land whenever you want, in boxing you can't do that because you can't punch through the gloves. The ONLY time a boxer can land their hardest punch is when their opponent is wobbled or when they counter them perfectly.

Well of course a boxer would get beat by an MMA champion if that was their first fight. MMA isn't that hard, you don't need a particular skill set to succeed in MMA. Just look at Dos Santos, as he said, "Boxing is my life", how many times does he go to the ground? If a boxer learns how to defend take downs like him and had a mediocre ground game they'd annihilate any MMA fighter, they have twice the power, speed, footwork, and chin of Dos Santos.

lol Anderson Silva would get destroyed against a B Level boxer. You don't understand boxing at all, boxing teaches you how to throw a punch properly something Silva can't do. It teaches you how to use head movement to dodge punches and set up punches, how to literally time ALL of your opponents punches, how to eliminate your movement before a punch which is called "telegraphing a punch" which is what ALL MMA fighters do, how to use footwork to stay on the outside/inside...

It's incredibly difficult. Boxers can't even throw their hardest punch because they won't land it. If you fuck up once on a SINGLE punch there is a good chance you'll be KO'd. Green would KO Silva within 5 rounds.
Oh and in Silva's 2nd boxing fight he looked like shit against some guy 20lbs and 5 inches shorter than him, Silva was getting countered a lot he was slow and had NO defense at all and this was against a guy that was making his pro debut.

Silva won the fight but looked extremely unimpressive, this was right after he KO'd Griffin as well.
In MMA you can punch and land whenever you want, in boxing you can't do that because you can't punch through the gloves. The ONLY time a boxer can land their hardest punch is when their opponent is wobbled or when they counter them perfectly.

Aleksander Emelianenko who is a pretty good striker in MMA fought and got his ass beat by some guy who was not only making his pro boxing debut but had taken the fight on 10 days notice and was out of shape, the fight was only 4 rounds as well. It's here on youtube just search it.

It's no coincidence that some of MMA's best fighters have been boxing since they were children, guys like Fedor, Silva, Nogueira, etc.
Alex Emelianenko fought against a boxer making his pro debut on just 13 days notice and still got his ass beat. Silva was KO'd in his first boxing match and in '05 looked like shit against an F level fighter, Kharitonov lost an amateur boxing match against some shitty fighter that was 4 years younger.

I think that is a little irrelevant, a true fight with no rules would involved headbutts, eye gouging, shots to the groin and biting and so forth that are disallowed in both sports. There was an episode of "human weapon" that showed how ineffective ground game is in a true street fight. Also James Toney was a middleweight and put on 70 pounds of fat. Not really a good example of a heavyweight boxer.

I like all of the fighters you mention especially Masato because even though he's a kickboxer he has hands like a pro boxer, but Anderson does have legit skills as a striker. Anyway the guys you mention all fight around 160 and A. Silva has to walk around at 200 pounds so it's not really a good comparison. You could mention Melvin Manhoef or Keijero Maeda but I think A. Silva would actually do good against them.

@frEEturk actually i never listened to any metal. I was a boxer and a karateka until 1994-5. Then i discovered MMA. Bruce Lee (u probably know him as the actor, i know him as the master of martial arts and phylosopher) said: "When one understands the true meaning of combat, styles are of no importance". yeah, more likely than not. Wearing no gloves gives Diaz a punching chance though, because it only takes one touch to ktfo out someone with no gloves. With gloves, he has NO chance trying to box with Green.
