Solid Christian men, all around. There are no more groups out there that sing doctrine in there songs. I think the only other ones that I know of are The McKameys. Sad to think about what has happend to S.G.M.
Yes this is an old version but wonderful....if you have ever been in an auditorium and heard Mike hit the last 8 notes of "hide me oh blessed rock of ages" you have felt the room vibrate it is a sould stirring thing you want to hear over and over.
Matt left to resolve some personal issues.(nothing bad so please dont start rumors) Matt is preaching and doing well. Please keep him in your prayers. Matt was a very GOOD guy. He will be missed.
Troy Burns was The Inspirations' first official bass singer, but I liked his lead singing better, I do believe. Having said that, he would sing bass occasionally during the 70s and 80s on certain songs, and I must say that he could get pretty low!
I suppose my favorite arrangement of The Inspirations was during the mid-70s: Archie Watkins, Troy Burns, Eddie Dietz, and Mike Holcomb--with Jack Laws thrown in there, too!
Thank you for posting a video by The Inspirations volscot! We are going to see The Inspriations and The McKameys on March 8 in Wooster Ohio. Can't wait!
You have no idea what an honor it was to stand beside him and sing when I did. Seeing the floor monitors rumble and hop with his low resonance was incredible. I miss it. Little known fact: As part of his warm ups for a concert, he sings down to the bottom of the piano and back, with ease...
I bet. Mike is like a second dad to me. I love him and his family so much. He's the best bass singer the Inspriations have ever had....and southern gospel group has ever had, but then again ....I'm bias. Have to say love this video. They all look like babies, especially Archie and Ron.
This Song is a Treasure - I wept hearing it over 25 yrs song by Tammy-Faye & I wept yesterday hearing Royal City sing it at Chapel .....

This was recorded at Heritage USA during the Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker PTL heyday. I don't know if it was ever made into a video for purchase or not.
