And the conection u have between eachother is so nice to see, I have a springer spaniel cross with a beagle he's cute, he loves to run I'm thinking of getting 1 of them leads that attach to your bike so he can run alongside.

In the best Border Collie tradition, I now must admit (sheepishly) that she's just a mutt. All this bragging about how BCs are so smart and so fast, got me to researching Borders , and absolutely that's true. But I went too far and paid for 2 separate DNA tests to see how much Border Collie she was, and it came back NONE. Despite the BC markings of white feet, chest, mark in the back of the neck, both tests said Cocker Spaniel, with Newfoundland mixed in, or even whippet "in the mix".

I know. I'm in love with my Girlfriend. Unbelievable dog. And that video was done about 3 years ago, and she's still going strong. They might run away until they're used to running along side you. But order something called a "Springer" dog tether for your bike off the internet (they're made in Sweden to train German Shepherds) and let her run along side your bike a few miles next to you, she'll beg you to go out and get her exercise, and if you pick a safe place say along a country path or in a park kind of awawy from traffic to let her run with you, once you teach them a few times they'll never run.

@AttyBand lol this is just what my little Staffy x Rhodesian Ridgeback does. She has lots and lots of stamina. She can run for hours on end while next to my bike. If you keep that up and feed her well she will become very very fit.

Your Border Collie is about the same size as my dog :D. I just took her for a 2 hour ride today. We stopped by a lake and she scrambles quickly over the rocks with her little legs :D. So cute.

i tried to ride with my dog, only i tied him to my bike. he saw a female blue merle collie and took off sideways, so i fell off my bike. i never rode with him again... i take him with me when i go and see my horses instead, he loves it just as much!!

She sleeps next to me in bed (that's 8 hours in constant contact), gets ride to the dog park or a long walk and the grocery when we wake up (2 hours), and when I come home, she sits right next to me until I go to bed. I guess the only time I'm not right with her is when I go to work That works out to 16 hours a day.

Probably a mix? From where do you guys get your dogs, isn't there any breeders in the States? :) I mean where I live, it's automatically a mix if you don't have a paper, that you got from the breeder when you bought the dog, that says what it is. It can be unregistered but then you can't be sure if you're giving money to someone who's just making puppies to get money and that's against the law here. You can't eg. buy a dog from a shop in Finland.

thats awesome :] i really want an australian shepherd but I'm not going to start any hard running/training/jumping until he is over 12 months/1 yr old cuz i don't want any bone/muscular problems. you're not experienced wth bc then, you cant compare a pure breed to a mutt, a true bc will run till they die, its true, also if they get hurt they wont even limp till your done playing....you do have to keep an eye out.

border collies are the smartest domesticated dogs in the world. national geographic magazine had an article about animal intelligence last month, and they had 2 dog stories, and both stories were about border collies. they are amazingly smart, slightly neurotic dogs. your dog is trying hard to please you. my suggestion: don't go so fast on your bike. you don't SPRINT 5 miles do you? no, you *JOG* 5 miles.
