good. best version of the lilac fairy variation so far. don't like the costume but who cares about the costume when the dancer is just as good as hell?!!
This is the music of the Lilac Fairy, but in this version of Sleeping Beauty this is just on of the 7 fairies. The 'Good' (Lilac) Fairy in this version is a non-dance / karakter role.
I am learning a different version of this variation, but this gave me a couple good pointers for the timing in the grand rond-de-jambe and the final attitude à terre. :)
xD My dance teacher is going to have me learn this solo. Same song with some differences. I was watching this to see pointers and she looks so beutiful! xD not so much the 5th but her extensions are fantastic!!!!
I thought it was a nice variation. I thought she had great extensions. And I really like her tutu, it's a bit longer than most and I like the way it flares out to a bell-shape when she does her turns. I think purple would be more suitable for lilac fairy; her costume looks blue or white, however, it could be the lights reflecting a lilac colored costume. Beautiful anyway!!
the dutch national ballet is amazing, great control and feet and extensions! absoulutley beautiful! this is the variation i am doing for my ballet school's spring spectrum, it is very challenging especially the fouettes
I actually like Marianela Nunez's variation better. This girl seems a little stiffer.
In regard to Lilac Fairy vs. not Lilac Fairy comments below-
I think the way that llama90291 reacted unacceptably. There are very different variations floating around, and we need to be open to them. Thank you mochabubble and DustPuppyOI for clearing the confusion up.
In the Nureyev version used by Paris Opera Ballet (and used by National Ballet of Canada a while back) has the Lilac Fairy as mostly a mime role to contrast with Carabosse.
This is not the Lilac Fairy. She is just one of the fairies. The Lilac Fairy in this version wears a long white dress and doesn't dance. So her parts had to be danced by other fairies.
is it just me or is she off the music at times? she always ends with the phrase, but check it out from about 0:33 to 0:43... something doesn't seem right. Maybe it's supposed to be that way?
lol, i do the same at every pirouette :-) but many people do, it's easier to turn around then. Nice to see that even professionals have little faults that make them kind of more "normal" ...
she has the body and the flexibility and even the long legs but she lacks passion. she did all the steps and transitions were rough but lacking that which can not be explained which few are the dancers that have it...PASSION!
don't like her stage presence....don't know there is something about that just doesn't let me believe it....don't know if you understand what i am tryign to say...
She's really good , i mean she is perfect but i don't like this costume for this variation..!!I actually prefer Marianela Nunez costume or even another lilac tutu for this variation:p
I actually prefer Marianela Nunez for Royal Ballet. This dancer here is very pretty and has such long limbs, but I prefer the solidness of Nunez's performance. I think this dancer flailed a little bit.
umm... when she turns, she goes from 4th, and shifts her feet... >.< other wise, shes better than the one from Royal Ballet. i love her feet and nice legs
Really good except for that "fifth" position! It's bigger than first!

well blackminstral may be right. in the PoB version, the lilac fairy did not dance this variation. She did mostly pantomine throughout the ballet.

This is the Lilac Fariy variation. I've learned it before.
PICKLETREE 4 years ago
@balletfreak430 Well, she IS a fairy godmother, too. All of the fairies are Aurora's godmothers, and the Lilac Fairy is the head-fairy.
SiloliWolfeden 1 year ago
This is not the variation of the fary-godmother. Not in this version. Here it is just on of the fary's.
