your absolutely correct, you do not need a big boat to fish the smaller rivers, however if you plan to fishing the ohio river, id get something bigger than a jon boat and tiller. the main thing is be safe and have fun
I would like to see more catfish specific boats and how they rig them. To me a Jon boat and a tiller motor is catfish specific. Don't get me wrong. It's all good. But those retireing that want to start fishing need to know ( that's all you need ) to have a great time CATFISHING !!!
i have seen many catfishing videos. this is by far my favorite. everyone else is too up-in-your face when in this video you are just cool about it. thank you for your service to catfishers everywhere
awesome video -we cant wait to get out for the first time this year and do some trolling for catfish in the shallow bays as the hungry cats feed on the spawing crappies in the area
sometimes i have to use 16oz or more when im on the mississippi river or in the spring when the water flowin in the ohio river! the big blues position themselves differently than your flatheads, the blues like the current! and if your gonna get bit , you need the weight
well when you fish the big rivers with heavy current and a 2lb skip jack for bait , you need something to hold it down. 3 oz are ok for small rivers or lakes with no current.
@hereforareasonunown Well, for starters the current is really swift. Much more than in this video. We fish from the banks all winter and you can see the barges struggle to get upstream. But there's literally trees EVERYWHERE, and I mean entire logs floating down, and they come fast. It'd be real easy to damage your prop. I can't tell you the last time I saw a boat out there in the winter....
