I did an intense red on the front part of my hair ( had to use bleach to lighten it up) and I want to go back dark. But the problem is that my hair has been dyed black previously before (about a year ago); and I wanna go back dark! How would I go about doing that? Red hair is so hard to maintain!

@sanderella218 Box dye from drugstores have this metallic shit in it that can ruin your hair. If you get stuff thats from sallies or salons its better.

@sanderella218 She probably meant the box dye's from the drugstores. I find that the one's that you buy from Sally's have better color outcome & better results than the quick dyes from drugstores.

When you are talking about your roots being lighter, its because you have already colored your hair before and then it started to grow out. In otherwords, your roots are fresh, untouched hair while the rest of it isn't. So the roots take to the color a lot better/faster than the rest. Next time you decide on a lighter color, do all the hair other than the roots first then go back and do the roots last.

@pigheather My friend is a hari dresser and I think i remember her saying that the more developer you put in the weaker the colour, and the faster it will wash out. And that's the difference between Permanent and Demi colour. (I think this is right...)

Word of warning if you plan to ever get a perm don't use the organic color it will most likely contain metallic salts which don't mix with perm solutions

You can also use Vaseline, instead of waisting your conditioner :) Why did you dye your hair, isn't this color pretty much the same as your natural one? Looks great either way
