Love all these excercises but unfortunately my gym doesn't have the hammer machine you guys used and the machine that was used to train the rear delts. Man I should move to Venice, CA.
On the lateral machine, is there an actual purpose to holding onto the handles? You mention trying to push more with the arms anyways, why not just not grip the handles and just open palm touch them? It prevents you from pulling with your arms. Or does gripping the handle actually work the muscles differently?
I love the tips that is given and also that it doesn't matter how heavy you lift as long you do it in good form . What annoys me is when I see people doing bad form trying to lift heavy as hell and looking pretty dumb doing it.
surely at 22:00 joe's using his arms to pull most of the weight? if he were to keep his arms straight and focus on his traps he would get a better workout?
@Release1234 You may think he's using his arms, but he's really not. Bending his arms that way allows him to raise his traps a little extra on the movement. Give it a shot next time you're doing shrugs.
@Instructionalfitness I thought about it again after posting and thinking about how I do my shrugs, I probably end up doing it subconsciously as my traps start to become fatigued but none the less a good video, and the amount of machines that are in this gym compared to those in England is amazing.
Just be careful with the side delt exercise not to rotate the shoulders inward too much. Doing so can cause impingement injuries which are really tough to recover completely from.
Great video, thank you for showing this shoulder episode. I had been excluding shoulders because I never thought of working them individually in the past. This gives me lots of ideas for exercises to do.
Hey Joe I really like the time you take to explain and show the training. I see too many guys bulldoggin weight to get results without knowing how much damage they are in for down the road.
if you dont go gym at least 5 times a week then you need to fulll contract, these guys go so foten they dont want to over work other parts of the body as they'll do them tomorrow
@Julzyax1 Don't matter bro you can do exactly what they are doing with free weights and still get the same or better results. Don't be limited by the machines in your gym.
@10beez its nice to have a 'range' of equipment to vary the exercises you can perform. However, I guess that a gym like Gold's would have a big monthly fee
@dyslecix yea it's not that simple u fucking douche bag. Some ppl want to have the size but keep the flexibility, maybe not the same as u were when u were skinny but on sit and reach i can get +28 but i squat 600lbs max. But i want to know good ways to keep my upper body flexibility.

@Release1234 dude sorry but if you think about it isn't he tring to protect the elbow joint by bending it slitly :/??
but how care anyway that little movement from the arm really wouldn't effect the exersise at all. :P
