@simplydolicious Cute Hello Kitties-- the cupcakes are cute, too! :) I haven't tried colorflow. I've heard it's pretty crunchy, so I don't know how it would do on cookies. I think it dries really nicely though.
sometimes i see cookies that looks like they were not outlined at all bcause they came out very smooth. Is it possible to put icing without the outline? I thought it would overflow....
@simplydolicious If you outline in the same color that you're going to fill in with, and you don't let it dry before filling it, it will look like it doesn't have an outline. I bet that's how they did the ones you've seen.
Using the meringue powder buttercream will probably be your best bet for thick icing. You can use it any way that you use cake buttercream, so if you want thicker icing, just use larger round or star tips. It will dry so that it won't get squished if you stack the cookies (or put them in bouquets), but it doesn't get as crunchy as royal icing would.
thanks! you are probably right. I made some Hello Kitty cookies. check it out on my blog. Same name plus dot com :)
Have you ever used Wilton Color Flow? If so, do they taste good?

I am sure I will thank you; you are helpful; I don't know how to use templates; is it possible that you can do a tutorial on using templates?
