  • As a film student all I can say is - amazing work. Keep it up.

  • I don't know why so many people put down Red One in terms of quality/not looking filmic enough. Especially considering just how many real movies are filmed using it (District 9/Book of Eli/Knowing) Go to the red one site and see. There's a ton. Sure, it's NOT film, but film isn't what makes a movie enjoyable. Film is only good when you have the budget for it. It's all about story/characters, not format. It's how you make the audience feel.

  • I don't get it.

  • Great score. but because it didn't build character sympathy properly, it isn't as moving. Good job overall.

You'll notice 35mm has much more latitude.

  • Very good, and were did you get the backgrond music from.

  • very good shots with Jake and Josh

  • Great score! Expected more from the RED!

  • For a 24 hour shoot: Solid.

I felt that the story was a bit disjointed, but many of the shots were impressive, and the Score was quite enjoyable.

All things considered, good work, guys, I look forward to seeing more of your work.

  • really nice work!

  • Thanks!!

  • Type in Youtube the exact and youll find a trailer of the work ii did at 1080i using the cannon XHA1.. id love to go 4k though lol TYPE - ( The Fallen Trailer moahmmedmamdouh )

  • I used the Cannon XHA1. I was pleased with the results. I didnt know district 9 was completely shot on Red. Well, in that case I might consider it then. but then again district 9 was suppose to have a gritty documentary style look right ?

  • This is pretty good especially considering your timing restraints. Ive got a question though... ive worked with the cannon HD camera and feel that ive gotten better results than the the red one even though I hear its so much better but the results dont seem to be that way. I think your shots are great but the overall quality of Red still looks way too digital and non film like, i was thinking of shooting my feature on red but everyones films dont seem to have that film quality.. do u u know why

  • The camera isn't everything. It depends on a lot of things, lighting, use of jibs, dollies etc. No matter what camera you use if you don't put any production into it's not going to look like a movie you see in the theater.

For this project we didnt have time to do any lighting or anything. If you want to see what the Red can do go watch District 9. It was completely shot on the Red.

  • @joshm24 District 9 doc scenes were shot with Sony EX1. The cinematic scenes shot with Red One.

  • What Canon are you using? I would like to see some of your footage. One of the biggest advantages for the Red is shooting in 4K it gives you the size to do all kinds of effects and also to show on the big screen.

Here is a short shot on the Red that shows more what it looks like with just a little production value.

  • @moahmmedmamdouh Honestly when I read your comment, the exact same thing that

Joshm24 posted came to my mind. Then when I went to write those thoughts in a reply

to your post about the cannon's, I saw her reply. RED is Light Years ahead of the Cannon

Consumer level device that your use to using, and have never been used to shoot any major

motion film like the RED ONE has been used for for a couple years now. District Nine, The Book

Of Eli. And several others to name a few.

  • Thank you!

  • this was beautifully shot. i especially liked the shot of the car pulling up behind the flowers.
