  • Well if the republicans want rebellion let's go at em. Boner is a conspirator of war crimes and treason left over from the bush administration telling us HE is ready for rebellion??? The most offensive thing about republicans isn't just proud stupidity. It's AUDACIOUS and proud stupidity that puts their foot in it every time.

  • Violent and open resistance? Really?? We actually have a phrase to describe putting that much spin on a fact: bald faced lying.

  • You mean having a bunch of nut bag Americans getting false information and rebelling at town hall meetings about health care reform is good? Really? Wow...you go Boehner...history will show you the biggest idiot of them all. Go get em!

  • Obama is our president, and if you dont like it Boehner, GET THE FUCK OUT.

Its not like you're doing anything to help the country either way.

  • If only Republicans and conservatives could be civil. From loud-mouthed town hall meetings to the floor of Congress while the President is speaking, many have proven that they CAN'T.

  • Anyone order some violence? get ur violence here

  • "Engaged"? "Conversation"?

This "rebelliion" is just a bunch of Rush Limbaugh fans shouting that Obama's a Kenyan and that 9/11 was faked.

What does that have to do with being engaged in a conversation about things that matter in our country?

  • How nice.

  • Boner must have been asleep thru the rebellion in Nov. 2008....

  • no it's just double standards. when people protest health care reform it's good (because he is against reform) but when you protest something like the war it's unpatriotic (because he is for it)

  • throw him out

  • go fuck yourself you orange cunt

rebellion from fucking health care? are you fucking serious you sisterfucking redneck piece of garbage? Where was your fucking rebellion when Bush was fucking the Bill of Rights up the ass?

  • Republicans only care about their civil liberties and the Constitution when a Democrat is in office. All of that Patriot Act, spygate and enemy combatant stuff--a-ok since President Bush is on their team!

  • nice try.

  • I remind Boehner that Jefferson also said: ". . . laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind . . . as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors."

  • Boehner would do well to remember a little history before he foments rebellion. After all, look what happened to Mary Antoinette when she said, "Let them eat privatized health care."

    Just sayin.

  • Marie, not Mary. ;D

  • Touché, mon ami.

  • remove congress and senate now. they are corporate tools

  • And replace them with.... ?

  • Seriously what are this racist SOBs doing in government again? That is the most irresponsible comment I have ever heard from a member of Congress

  • Fuck you, Boehnhead.

Stop lending legitimacy to violent anarchists for the sake of short term political gain. Maybe you'll win a few seats in the next election by doing this, but what kind of a country will you leave us to live in as a result of it? An ungovernable, dysfunctional one.

  • This guy is very creepy. He's got an agenda, and I'm pretty sure it involves bad things.

  • tard

  • knowing senator boner, im sure he meant Jefferson Davis.

  • That was good!! LOL

  • "i've been watching this grassfire grow"...well, don't try to put it out or anything, no, just keep standing there fanning the flames and being amazed at how you've never seen anything like it before. putz.

  • The ignorant fringe of the right shouting "socialist / tyrant / hitler / Kenyan" isn't a rebellion.

    It's idiotic.

  • I saw it when they kicked a lot of republicants out of office last november.

  • What Bonehead Boehner doesn't seem to realize is that he's already been a victim of a rebellion when the voters wisely chose to place him in the minority during the last election.

  • what a king DBag

  • No BONE HEAD you are not Healthy you like te other Repuglicans are simply sore losers. And to think at a time when we are at WAR you and the other so called Tea Party Patriots have even tried to say the POTUS wasnt born here? You encourage gun totin assholes to show up at meetings ? YOU Mr BONE HEAD should be held accountable for inciting violence against the President of the United States

  • What conversation. Stupid people screaming at other stupid people isn't a conversation, and it isn't good for our democracy unless by good you mean the end result being a civil war.

  • It's a republic. Not a democracy.

  • You do know that republic and democracy are not mutually exclusive terms, right? It is very, very possible to be both a republic and a democracy.

  • No, the electoral process is not the same thing as the form of government.

  • What the founding fathers knew as a 'republic' is what we know of today as a representative democracy. The Soviet Union, China and Iran are/were all considered to be republics. A republic really only refers to a nation whose head of state is a president and not a monarch. Political terminology has evolved since the lat 18th century.

  • A republic is a republic and have always been a republic. A democracy is a democracy and have always been a democracy. You're perfectly right that there are other republics in the world, but what makes the US republic special is the Constitution that protects individual rights. A democracy will undermine these rights by a majority voting for whatever they like. The best way to destroy a great republic is to make it a democracy.

  • Constitutional republics are considered liberal democracies because they protect individual liberty from majority and minority forces, while retaining some democratic elements.

Constitutional republics were first advocated in the 18th and 19th centuries by classical liberals, who were engaged at the time in a political and ideological conflict against conservative supporters of traditional monarchy. That's right the founding fathers were considered liberals.

  • A constitutional republic is not the same thing as a liberal democracy. A constitutional republic is a constitutional republic. A liberal democracy is a a liberal democracy. 'Liberalism' and 'Classic liberalism' is not the same thing.

  • The UK, Canada, Sweden, Australia are all not republics and are officially democracies. But that doesn't mean the people get to vote on everything. There is no such thing as pure direct democracy. Parliamentary democratic monarchies still elect representatives (just like the US) to assemble and create laws. There is no referendum on every single issue.

  • That's right.

  • no, a constitutional democracy is a type of Liberal democracy.

"'Liberalism' and 'Classic liberalism' is not the same thing."

maybe, but they have the same roots.

  • I wrote: 'a constitutional republic'. You changed it to 'a constitutinal democracy' and made a circular conclusion based on the invalid implicit premise that a democracy is liberal by definition. In addition you make a statement claiming that two opposite ideas have the same roots. From this we can conclude that you voted for Obama.

  • All of a sudden republicans love to talk about the founding fathers, and the constitution.

Whatever, they're just a bunch of uneducated fools who think it's unfair when things don't go their way, and something needs to be fixed. They also think they are the only people who exist. Maybe in the rightwingoverse, but not in reality.

  • Thats a very good description of a progressive !

  • But not when its against a Republican President.. Those you have to support completely... or leave the country.

  • To have a health discourse he's gotta kick the assholes to the curb. Then we can talk.

  • These people are upset they lost the election, end of story.

  • Funny that Boehner pushes for a rebellion now but didn't when his party was spending boatloads of money on pork projects during the Bush years. Hypocrite!

  • I wonder how Boehner will feel when the "rebellion" is unleashed on him?

    He's an ass.

  • Boehner is such a slimy shyster.

"I've never see anything like this."

No shit, Sherlock! That's because we've never had a black President before, ya douchenozzle.

    DUH.

  • somehow I don't think all of the people unhappy with the government are unhappy because the president is black. no doubt some racists are, but there are legitimate terms by which many disagree with the current administration. Its not left-right, or white-black its a culmination of many presidents following a line many of your fellow citizens disagree with.

  • The problem is those people are being drowned out by the people that can't go a day without calling the president a Nazi, or claiming we are living in fascist, marxist, socialist, tyranny. I would love to see legitimate decent but when you see people marching with "Bury Obamacare with Kennedy" signs it kinda gives a bad impression of everyone that is a part of the so called rebellion. When they kick those folks to the curb then the country can have a real conversation.

  • I disagree, the crazies are just who the media like to cover because it does reflect negatively on all. A few years ago I attended a Freedom Festival in Toronto which is really just the Marijuana March. They had 911 inside job truthers with signs and placards, and they were a minority but they were also the loudest most obnoxious people there.Haven't been to one since.

  • Entrenched ,corrupt politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle are complicit and they are all on the wrong side of this rebellion.I hope that it can be a peaceful Ron Paul revolution ,but if not then we will do whatever it takes

  • Funny how the right is banging there drums of hate and violence over taking care of all Americans, God is not impressed. These people are showing they are not even good human beings. Remember GOP= Greed Over People

  • You are frantic to perpetuate the lie that this is a left/right issue . 90% of my peers are independent ,mad as hell, and not right wing.We see this for what it is .The ruling elite imposing tyrrany

  • And I see you for what you are...racists!

    Shut up and go away!

  • I have heard this so many times it is comical. I will not go away, nor willI shut up. If you have something intelligent to say ,please do, otherwise keep your paranoid ranting to youself. btw since I am only one person the correct spelling is "a racist" sometimes when people are schitzophrenic they assume everyone else is also ,as in ,I am a lowbrow from columbus and so am I

  • You Lie! Where were all you nut bags when Bush was in Office? You have a voice now because the right wing is paying for it. and you're all being used, It makes you look childish and uneducated.

  • Ask Cindy Sheehan,,,,, or Naomi wolfe, No I am not being used. It is you that is the fool ,for believing the lie that Obama is change . I am a libertarian that supports Ron Paul,Go cry a river and get your facts straight

  • yes Ron Paul lost too so get over it. You can say Ron Paul would pull all the troops out because you have no idea just like me what a mess the bush bums left. Besides that Ron Paul is a Republican Not a Libertarian. So you get your facts right. Also Ron Paul wants corporations to run health care so your pushing for the same old same old. happily in another 20 years the country will shift so far left and to being descent human beings to one another people like you will be reduced to nothing.

  • after viewing your youtube home page red I have determined you are a lost cause and a waste of my time .peace

  • This is much less than a rebellion! This is just a bunch of GOP rednecks hurling insults and spewing racist slander.

  • And a revolution is healthy for the REPUBLIC if those in charge thinks the US is a democracy.

  • It's a Democratic Republic you moron.

  • We have no republic any more.

  • Yes you have. Just kick out the corrupt socialists. They've got nothing.

  • You're confusing the democratic electoral PROCESS with a democracy as a SYSTEM of government. The US is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.

  • As long as it is "We the People" the US is a Democracy. In that the head of stat is not a monarch the US is also a Republic.

  • No, the people elects the president of the republic in a democratic electoral process. The people is protected by the Constitution, a document restricting the power of the government, preventing the government from violate the individual rights of the people. Sadly those in charge does not seem to respect the Constitution, and therefore they're about to get a boot in their ass by the people - and rightfully so. Ok?

  • A Democracy is a government run by the people, the process is defined by the constitution with elected officials acting as representatives on the peoples behalf. As long as the United States Government is By the People, it is a Democracy.

  • Now you're rationalizing. The US is by definition a Federal Constitutional Republic. I'm not making this up, it's official. You need to take the republic back from those who think the US is a democracy - a simple gang rule by consensus.

  • I'm not saying the government isn't a Republic, the rule of law is what keeps the majority from taking away the rights of the minority (although lately this hasn't remained true). However, the government is also a Democracy, the government is given its power by consent of the people, everyone is given voice in the government by vote and through Representatives. The US is both a Republic and a Democracy.

  • No, as I have already pointed out: the people elects the president of the republic in a democratic electoral PROCESS. You're confusing the form of government with the electoral process.

  • You are confusing the process as somehow separate from the government structure. As long as that process exists it defines the government.

  • I don't think any of your arguments is capable of fusing the electoral process together with the form of government and thereby making a democracy out of a republic. A republic is a republic and a democracy is a democracy. An electoral process is not the same thing as a form of government and the structure is just a form of organizing a government, be it a republic or a democracy.

  • The Congress, which is the representative voice of the people, can create new laws and propose changes to old laws. The three branches of government allow this process to take place so that the rule of law can change as needed by the people, and for the people. It is meant to be done so that the majority cannot ever take away the rights of the minority. It is a fusion of the two types of government, Republic and Democratic.

  • The US is a federal constitutional republic and not a democracy. Neither is it a hybrid. Congress can change laws and pass new laws. That's right, but they're bound by the Constitution. If they don't respect the Constitution they need to be kicked out of office.

  • "Congress can change laws and pass new laws. That's right, but they're bound by the Constitution."

That is the Hybrid. And here's the thing, in being able to change the laws, they can change the Constitution. They are not bound by the law as much as they are bound by the Executive and Judicial Branches through which their additions and changes have to pass.

  • Do you understand what is required to change the Constitution? Do you understand how strict the qualified majority is? They are most definitely bound by the Constitution. And law does not pass through the Judicial branch, it reviews and interprets law and when necessary deems some unconstitutional when they aren't reconcilable. Realize that a vast majority of Federal law is unconstitutional, but it is never contested or appliciable in court proceedings.

  • "Do you understand what is required to change the Constitution? Do you understand how strict the qualified majority is?"

It is difficult, not impossible. As long as it remains possible the people can change the law and have ultimate authority. The Judicial Branches interpretation of the law is its passing through the 3rd and final branch of the gov. The Judicial Branch can also rule something unconstitutional, thus throwing it out entirely. Checks and Balances.

  • Right, but some law never has a chance for judicial review. They don't review every law that's passed, only those laws that apply to cases brought before them.

  • Every court case is judicial review. This can involve breaking the laws, or the people asking the courts to rule a law unconstitutional.

  • Changing the Constitution requires 2/3's majority.

  • Majority Rules - Democracy

  • And ratified by all states. That is not an easy process at all.

  • Pretty foolproof, and then there is the Militia and between 50-75 million gunowners. Democracy now? I don't think so.

  • No where does a republic imply the use of a democratic 'process'. A republic is a form of government in which the head of state is not a monarch and the people (or at least a part of its people) have an impact on its government.

That refers to almost every country in the world.

In the United States Founding Fathers like James Madison defined republic in terms of representative democracy .

  • That's correct, with reference to the electoral process.

  • UR a Fuckin Hillbilly you cant even speak properly SHUT UP ASSHOE

  • Well said

  • Given his posture and speech he doesn't even believe what he is saying. Just a talking point to rally the wing.

  • All the statist pols in D.C. are scared ,as well they should be!

  • Statist, collectivist, communist, socialist...

What are you going to do when you run out of words to stick an "ist" on the end of? Actually formulate an ARGUMENT?

  • It would probably be best for you to wait a little while before you throw out challenges to argue with me .I comment here on tpmtv alot because it keeps me on my toes, I am not interested in a pissing match, there are alot of good folk that I DEBATE with herebut I dont have a reference point yet as to where you are coming from. I am a Ron Paul libertarian poltically and that is what I am trying to promote here. Insofar as you have given your occupation as "middle management nwo illuminati ? peace

  • Yes your right you are a lost cause, Sadly you have drank your own kool-aid. Your so called arguments speak little to the humanity of this world or being a decent human being. I would say your a Republican masquerading as a Libertarian because your Republican friends are like lepers. But you know something even though I know you dont see eye to eye with any liberal I would defend your right to speak your mind unlike the right that would dare to stop free speech.
