  • And from the first time that she really done me

  • ...Well, Ringo had fun.

  • John was bein john.

  • Blue jay goob?

  • He didn't forget the words... That is just john for you...

  • @TheLonersManual I agree haha

  • he did that on purpose lOl he's funny XD

  • they had a guy on his knees holdin the lyrics in front of him. he did that cuz hes great.

  • i love the keyboard in this, its so relaxing and groovy

  • @MrRosstifarian me too. Thats Billy Preston, the 5th Beatle that days....

  • He didn't forget the words, they hadn't been written at the point of this live performance!!!

  • He musta been real high. :P

  • @macandcheese001 No he wasn't. He was working. Surprised?

  • ringo at the back like "haha you arsehole" (in a good way)

  • Of course it is intentional. His humor is like Groucho's, Chaplin's, and Woody Allen's.

  • Liturgical, like a mantra, quasi Sanskrit, Oh no lay rishi god bli blue chi go, ...but most likely gibberish, with universal application, as it may be a new idiom for 'don't let me down'.

  • John has always done this. It's everywhere. Just look it up. He's always had fun with messing up lyrics while singing onstage. Not very hard to find.

  • @LennonMeringuePie its half the fun of being a musician....gotta change it up sometimes :)

  • still better lyrics then I hear today

  • People think I'm crazy when I tell them this is my FAVORITE Beatle song!

  • Comment removed

  • The song was only a day or two old at the time, if I'm not mistaken. He had cue cards when they did "Dig a Pony."

  • he was the grandfather of HEE HEE!

  • we should play this shit backwards.

  • @kennyg03 its a hidden message

  • @kennyg03 I'm at it

  • This was the rooftop concert, no intentional screw ups here, it was for a movie. He just improvised like only a Beatle could.

  • THE CORPORATE CARTELS (married monopolies) control the content of the propaganda that's dressed up as news. Truly the dawning of Aquarius is the new age of indoctrination. Time with you is more of an annoyance than wearing a hat. All laws are commandments.

  • he forgot the words.. no wonder ringgo smiled back there

  • I'd like to see the Incredible Hulk fight Whitney Houston.

  • @ElHombreConDosOjos I am very high so somehow this makes perfect sense.

  • @noboxoffice lmfao

  • JOHN WAS THE GENIALITY IN PERSON, HERE'S THE PREOOF

  • I do have to say, id I ever play this song live, I will sing this version.

    For it is epic.

  • i think he did it on purpose.

self censoring.....think about the lyric and think about where they were.

in the late 60's some people were offended by a person talking about how a woman did him and if she did him good

  • "and lolee weezy goblee blu jeegoo"....

no one writes lyrics like tht anymore...

  • @PinapplePickles4Life If you've seen the Let It Be movie; this is exactly how he sang it!

  • he is just foolin around like john does... no mistake

  • this is real. John would somtimes forget lyrics he wrote. So on the roof top concert there was a speacial assigned man to hold up flash cards infront of john so he wouldn't forget. john must have read to fast or his mind was in a different state hahaha

  • check out ringo in the background... he found it amusing haha

  • in the Let It Be movie you could clearly see someone holding up the lyrics on a paper, so that tells you he didn't know all the lyrics. you can also see Harrison make fun him by going on his knees next to the guy holding the paper with the lyrics.

  • Who knows what they may have been doing downstairs earlier....

  • @PinapplePickles4Life No he doesn't.

  • I love it. John was always forgettin' lyrics. Part of his charm. They were powered with raw genius, yet couldn't play their guitars too well (comparatively speaking) but it's that humaness and simplicity that made it all jell. They knew the value of a mistake, or when you get something wrong, and would leave it in a lot. Not other groups has more glaring mistakes than Beatles on record, or more off key singing notes, it's like they were leaving space for the muse to complete the magic.

  • @jetorvt You're way, way off. Off key notes? Comparatively bad guitar playing? Bullshit. Find me a song where they're off key or where they mess up the chords. You can't.

  • Somebody had to sit infront of him w/ flash cards w/ the lyrics, for a song he wrote less than a week before...

  • it sounds so swift! i couldn't have covered up my mistake like that... XD

  • LOL John sounds like retarded rooster. XD

  • Ringo's laugh is priceless haha

  • ovojigibligajigobligo....

  • Well, let 'em have their fun. For all their fame and fortune--and women--I wouldn't trade places with any one of them. John's father abandoned him; Paul's mother died when he was 14(?); Ringo was a sickly child; and George was, well, George. John was murdered; Paul lost his first wife to cancer, and his second to divorce; Ringo battled alcoholism; and George succumbed to cancer. My life isn't so bad. :-)

  • Watch Ringo while he sings that. HE IS LAUGHING HIS ASS OFF!!!

  • @Homer22234555 xDDD i would be too if i was that stoned and heard him doing that LOL

  • And only risi gatch blue jei goo

  • *the odd line

  • lol @ liambox17

    "bloochygoo", u sure about that?

Lennon never was known for his Japanese.... but he was known for missing the line during the beatles live shows. I think it's quite endearing.

  • in the related feature "The Comedy of John Lennon" - is he speaking japanese in the concerts too then? I think he just makes up sounds randomly, being a musician and a writer, like? o_O

  • He's singing in Japanese you fuckwits.

  • Ha Ha! Thats Funny!

  • Check out Purple Chicks A/B road, a huge collection of recordings from the get back sessions, I have heard but a fragment of these recordings (there are like 90 hours of footage or so) and he says funny shit like that when they practice it.

  • love John's expression as he looks over at Paul after the silliness....like, "Didja hear that Macca? I made a funny!" Precious!

  • this is very john I think - he ALWAYS forgot the words and the look between them is so sweet and reassuring

  • @wojiaokatya He's singing in Japanese, it's probably a tribute to Yoko.

  • @liambox17 what's he sayin' in Japanese?

  • "And though they weeshy got blee blue jay goo."

    Sounds like that, lol :P

  • @hello50guitar hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah totallyyyy

  • @hello50guitar after that it sounds like he says "souffle"

  • @hello50guitar No, you see, he is explaining to all of us that only Reesy got bloojey goo. His argument is quite sound, am I right?

  • Comment removed

  • hes just having fun

  • lol

  • the version with the mistake is far superior.

  • this is my favorite rooftop song <3 they still could have a good time even when so many problems existed in the band. amazing!

  • i dont understand what he says, someone could tel me pls...

  • JUST PERFECT,

    love peace

    relax

  • que grandes los cuatro magnificos siempre aprenderemos de vosotros PAZ y AMOR A TODOS

  • maybe he was saying it in another language. maybe French German. they were in Paris and Munich

  • its not intentonal, my grampa was talking to him after it, classic john tho

  • the 8 people are rong to dislike this vidie

  • What say, I don´t know?

  • this was on the Let It Be film

  • lol Ringo's smiling

  • John lennon was known for forgetting words even when he was in the quarry men. he used to make up lyrics that sound like they were part of the song when he forgot. Its in the beatles anthology dvd

  • You Can See Ringo Laughing In The Backround!

Ahh Man, Oh How I Love The Beatles.

I Cant Explain Them In Words

  • this is funny! he says i know this whigot me blue chill cold

  • It's so cute how it's all funny to them. They never criticized each other, they'd just smile and laugh about it even in the middle of the song. You can tell George and Ringo are laughing, and John is smiling at Paul. It's wonderful to see what great friends they were.

  • he did it on purpose becuase the first time him and paul met at the church fair he was purposely making the lyric as he went along to some of his songs and paul found that funny

  • Wish John had stayed in the UK although I guess the americans could still have killed him in the UK.

  • This song is not live. There is a keyboard in the music. John, Paul and George are all playing guitar. I didn't think the Beatles would do something like this. It makes me sad.

  • @eljosho420 What on you on about? The song is live. Billy Preston was playing the keyboard. The camera doesn´t focus on him much, but he's there too.

  • Ringo :""""")))))")))

  • i dont think he did on purpose i remember watching an interview of paul mccartney saying that the thing that impressed john the most of paul was that he always remembered all the lyrics.. paul went on saying when he first saw john, john was playing one song and singing a whole different song

  • Oh come on, of course it's intentional! When John got self-conscious he did something silly to make himself laugh and others smile. He did the same thing at the Shea Stadium concert when he went suddenly into a fake language while addressing the fans.

He's in front of a crowd - a busy London street for crying out loud! - and the cameras were rolling, so he's goofing off. I've always loved this bit, just because he looks like he's so tickled to be plugged in and performing live again :)

  • might he have possibly sang the actual words in a different language he was fluent in?

  • john: eh lo lee jee zee gah blee bloo j'goo...

    ringo: xD LMAO!

    lol good ol' improv xD

  • he's not going to tell all those people about how good yoko and him did it the first time, use your heads guys, john's a modest guy yeah? thats how much you know your beatles

  • That is so.............. funny that John forgets the words!!!!!! hahahaha

  • I think it's on purpose. How can he forget the words if he wrote it? ALso, early in the film, you see them rehearsing it. I htink he did it as a goof. They were on the rooftop. Probably tired with all the filming they were doing indoors. He might have thought they would not be able to use the rooftop version, what with the mikes picking up all the wind, so why not goof around with the others? Besides, it would look good on film,

  • I love how Ringo starts laughing in the background. ajdaklsdjf Fucking great band.

  • Excellent flub recovery - it happens to the best especially when the cameras are on

  • peter what you doin? speakin' italian.

  • I love how after he messes up, he laughs. Then the second time he looks at paul and Pauls like "Come on John, get it right" and John's face is like "Haha! I remembered this time, look!"

  • John wasn't the best at remembering lyrics. In the Anthology doc, Paul says about the first time that Lennon saw him performing: "I think what impressed him the most was that I knew all the words to the song!".

Besides, they hadn't played live in years by the time this was recorded, so it's understandable.

P.S. : "And ro-lys blish she's got bli-glug-yee-goo" is a great line by any standards.

  • @Elnonopololo I sensed same about John; his tremendous word & rhyming skill outperformed his listening skill - knew a few poets who have that prob. And yet, I am in two minds as to whether isn't just plain playful here. The patch of gibberish certainly rolls from his mouth as if it's not the first time he improvised so. Has anyone with a good auditory and phonetics skills been able to come up with a transcription?

  • @stanibol If I play this tune one more time, the people around me are going to hammer me. So, for the moment, this is what I hear: "And blo' li ri-shi gahd-li bloo dji-go, she does, yes she does..."

  • @PinapplePickles4Life :

no, this is the real (original) one. The one you saw is overdubbed with studio version audio to cover this mistake.

  • @jagatinho i think you can really tell its the real one based one everyone else's reaction, like ringos... lol

  • It was totally accidental, he forgot the lyrics but knew the melody and he looked at paul so they could both have a little laugh about it =)

  • He wrote the songs a few weeks earlier. And as you all know they wrote songs in a day so he didn't have time to memorize it.

  • @Slycooper2456

Try reading through your comment..it makes no sense at all...if he wrote it a few weeks earlier, he would have had time to memorise it !

  • i dont think you can intentionally forget something, but sure...

  • LOL wtff!

  • esta musica es muy shvre xD

  • wat he supposed to say

  • @lmm6192 : And from the first time that she really done me

Oo she done me, she done me good

  • unintentional- john often dropped lyrics after the beatles got "big"- and esp. in his solo years

  • LOL!

  • when a white man speaks gibberish:he's homeless. when a black person speaks: gibberish: he's rappin'. ? ):

  • @starfoxstarwolf5423 It's ok, don't be sad :)

  • Notice Ringo laughed! XD Look behind John!

  • ringo was laughing at it i could see

  • If you see the movie, John had trouble with remembering the words to 'Dig a Pony' and has a tech with a clipboard at his feet so he can read the words.

  • lol at Ringo laughing on the background xD

  • I always thought he was saying something in Russian.

  • @MrElectroGizmo yeah he's saying actually in Russian. It means like 'Beatles are the funniest guys in the world' =D

  • John Lennon...

  • play it backwards and it will tell you paul is dead.

  • I'm gonna pee:D!! hahahaha.

  • Of course its intentional thats why he laughs

  • @TheMaz150 or he laughed at him self for forgetting the words.. not disagreeing with u just stating the possibilities..

  • Uhmm i never noticed but....... lol

  • I always thought it was intentional, because in the long shot where you can see the three of them, he sort of looks at Paul before he sings it and smiles, Paul smiles, George starts laughing. Based on their expressions it seemed like an in joke. But maybe not.

  • @superman11978 : No no, he looks at Paul AFTER he sings it ;)

They even employed Mal Evans afterwards to hold the lyric sheets in front of them so this wouldn't happen again :)

  • @jagatinho During the 1970's, Lennon recounted that his drug problem had become so severe, that he often forgot the words to his own songs. Prior to the Plastic Ono Band's shows, he had someone write the lyrics to his songs on the floor of the stage.

  • @superman11978 He forgot the words, lol, he often did that. They put a guy holding a pad with the lyrics on it in front of John so he could read the words.

If you can find the video of the whole Roof Top Concert you'll see the guy in front of John.

  • @superman11978: I think the four of them knew each other well enough to know when the others "had it" or not. Paul & George probably knew by John's expression. Either way, it's fine cause they're the (amazing) Beatles. (:

rest in peace John & George. <3 may the gutiar gods welcome you. (:

  • LOL, John's soo funny!! Love him. :)

  • I think he flubbed it. but it's still cool how he still pulled it off.

  • it sounded a bit like i am the walrus and i thot he was going to bust out his walrus costume and sing it

  • Acculy they had just gotten down writing Dont Let Me Down and Dig a Pony before the Apple Corps Rooftop performance so they had to use big posterboard note cards with the lyrics on them so maybe he got lost

  • Yeah, on purpose :)

  • i wonder if i can sing the funny john lyrics on their video game

    love lennon!

  • it was john that got shot george died of troat cancer... i think

  • @minniemoo23 i ment throat soz!!

  • @minniemoo23 i thought it was lung cancer.

  • ha ah

  • He just gave it a lousy start and covered with humor. The first time Paul saw John he did the same thing... replaced words he didn't know in a song with some silly rubbish.

  • @OhSoSwingin60s George*

  • lol at 0:6

  • Look at Ringo backward who's like: Wtf Haha

  • wow, that would suck but still it sounds like another language so i guess it makes it ok ^-^ =D

  • i think it's german

  • not really

  • @20Bravesfan It is its French

  • watthe heck in the begging

  • hahaha cuties

  • ya good one Noobie Boobie, there are some crazy fans, anyways happy birthday George Harrison, you will forever be missed.

  • genious, look at his smile at 4'' , amazing. he will be missed forever

  • it sucks that john and george are dead.R.I.P...stupid crazed fans!

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx What are you talking about? I can understand about the crazed fan for John but Geroge died of Cancer.

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx george died of cancer - unfortunately you can't do much about that. But yes, it was a shame that John was shot.

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx Actually, John Lennons killer wasn't much of a fan. So. Yeah. Stupid RELIGION! Because that is why he was killed. Crazy religious bastard. And George is DAMN CANCER.

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx and cancer

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx for the record(not directed at you Noobie) George died of Cancer

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx yeah damn cancer always jumping up on those famous people, askin for autographs and whatnot

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx yes. and cancer

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx Except cancer killed george.

  • @Mactator100 brain cancer that is.

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx George Harrison died of cancer. I highly doubt cancer was a Beatles fan.

  • @cheifguggletram Well, in the 90s he was stabbed by a crazed person in his home, and Olivia started beating the attacker. While it didn't kill him it certaintly didn't help.

  • @cheifguggletram It was.

  • @xXNoobieBoobieXx yes, because george obviously got cancer from a crazed fan...

  • @smeagol912 thats exactly what i said to my self after i read that crazy beatles fans do posses that power.

  • You can see Ringo smile! x)

  • the fact he can't remember the words doesnt mean he can make up he own. always creative!! RIP John!! :)

  • fuck that looks so fun
