I served onboard the Tarawa back in the late 80's... Very cool to see her scaled down. All you need now are landing craft or LCACs launching out the aft.
This boat does take on water and the back opens up and 2 lcac's (r/c) come out the rear, you can see it in some of my other videos. This ship was recently sold at the Riverside contest.
Fantastic job. I served on the USS Saipan LHA-2 and this brought back some fun memories. The ship is really well done, other than a few minor missing items it is very accurate.
There goes 30 million dollars worth of taxpayers' money down the drink XD Hehe. Awesome models. Do my eyes deceive me but did I see a CH-46 rotating its rotors on the deck? Man! Thats a busy flight deck! Hope they were able to rescue the model pilot ;) Thanks for posting.
My bearthing was directly under the flight deck.. had to use earplugs to sleep when they did harrier flight ops.

my dad was the captain of the tarawa.... and we went on the tiger cruise and stuff it was amazing we took the 8 day trip from hawaii to san diego

Yes, the CH46's blades were turning. The ship is 1/96 scale
