  • if he would have placed a second 2x4 for the base to ride on he would have had a much easier time routing the wood. his hand are way to shaky and never got back and forth like he did

  • My Video is the right way to use the router

  • you should only go one direction, depending on the direction the router is turning

  • Village idiot

  • I'm waiting to see one of these "Clueless village idiots" slice off a finger.

  • That had NOTHING to do with PLUNGE ROUTING!

  • So when does he show how to use the PLUNGE feature? And sorry, ED, but a right angle is 90 degrees. Let's try an "expert" with a command of the English language next time, shall we?

  • They give anyone a power tool these days.

  • Ok so I would agree with other posts....DO NOT go back and forth with the router like that. If the bit catches going the wrong way you could have quite the mess.

  • YouTube will NEVER allow this but I really wish I could block IdiotVillage and such garbage out once and for all. Just because these people somehow are in possiesion of a video camera doesn't make them have any knowledge they wish for?

  • I have to agree, that tiny bevel on there really brought that to life. Also I like the router rubbing action that you used there, don't pay attention to these guys, they don't know the finer techniques to router rubbing.

  • that has nothing to do with plunge routing and when he was don he tilted the bit into himself... not smart it will cut you

  • Wow !

That really brought that piece of scrap wood to life !

I can't even imagine what this guy could do with a chainsaw on a discarded railroad tie. . .!

    Or a biscuit joiner on a rotted outside deck board. . . . !

    Amazing.

  • Why are you going BACK over the original routed line? Its not going to get any smoother.1 pass is enough and you can sand the rest for any smootheness.going back is just crazy you can actually split the piece's grain going against it if the wood is soft enough and you do manage to get a bite on the way back.IF YOU DO intend to re-route the same segment I suggest you pull out of the piece go back to the begining and plunge into the piece like you did from the start. ASSUMING guide or bearing used.

  • More like "How to use a Plunge Router like a Fixed Base Router". I know that the music expert villiage videos sucked, but I guess they are terrible no matter what the category!!

  • Stupid and dangerous video. That workpiece is not adequately secured. And that's not plunge routing.

  • Not exactly a definitive guide to what a router will do.

  • eso lo hago xcon la callampa del pico

  • that has nothing to do with plunge routing! :P

  • Is that just me or pretty much all of "Expert"village video seem to be made by everything but expert???

  • entiendo perfectamente tu idea, pero es pobre, muy pobre tu trabajo, lo puedo hacer hasta con formón!!!

  • This quality and content of this demonstration is exceptionally poor. I strongly recommend not to make use of this material for any routing activity.

  • oh my god please dont go back and forth. that scared me to death! this is quite possibly the worst demo of a router ever.

  • If the bit has a bearing..then going back and forth is not an issue.....I don''t know what this video has to do with a plunge router though..this is not plunge routing..a fixed base would accomplish the same thing

  • this demo shows incorrect router movement. You should be moveing the router slowly and gently, not like ripping it off.

  • Was this a fixed router. You didnt seem to push down in plunge.

  • when u started u went the wrong direction.

Why go back and forth so many time??

A fixed base router could have done that. There was not any plunge routing involved except the type of tool used.
