  • This car was in Motor Trend magazine and they ran it against a GM prepared aluminum 427ci big block. The Boss won running a 10.60 against the Camaro and after the match it was discovered that GM had cheated and used an aftermarket block in their build. The Boss had a C6 automatic with 3:08 gears because anything steeper and the car would not hook. 0-60mph @ 1.9sec. One bad Ford.

  • sure do wish he would have said something about Larry Shinoda!! THE one who was the father behind the boss 302, boss 429 and the shinoda we are looking at in this video!!

  • I Think Jack Is One Of The Most Luckiest Guys In The World.

  • Where are your Veyrons people theres a Mustang looking for you. 0-60 in 1.9 sec. No need for turbos or superchargers. 429 cubic inches. Damn they should build a limited edition just to show the imports the taillights.

  • Thank the Lord for the Big Block Ford.

  • badass car

  • Ardun heads for the Ford Flathead were perhaps the first use of a hemispherical head on a readily available American V8...ford did the hemi stateside long before chrysler did..plus the europeans used the hemi head design as far back as 1905

  • @dzrhodes jaguar first used it in 1940's i think. but they stopped making hemis, then ford and chrysler used them.

  • why select that body??? its girly and looks pretty much like an escort.

  • I'm suprised Ford let that happen. They can stand big engines anymore. I don't get it. They've gone the import route and just stuck in a really small V8 and just keep putting more turbo on it. I'd rather have a big block with todays technology. That would sell like crazy too!

  • @mine1username i agree, we as consumers ought to have a choice huh???? i own a 429 and a 460.. i love the big blocks.

  • mean!

  • this mustang eats the new zr1 corvette.

  • @sk8mafia805 You wish

  • @IDontHateOnCars ZR1 Does not stand a chance against this car.Ive driven Boss 429 cars and they are nasty fast.

  • @kawasakif3 Yes it does , A stock zr1 has been trapped at 133 in the quarter, that's 2 mph slower with 200 hp less. And this car will only hang with the zr1 in one aspect. You might as well forget handling ,mpg or any thing else. Spectacular car here. People just get to cocky, or just do understand cars very much. I rember watching the show about this car on tnn back when car reviewers weren't a bunch of cock smokers who only down on cars or say what it doesn't have I hate that shit.

  • @IDontHateOnCars I like all types of cars but I would have to see the ZR1 out run the Mustang to believe it.Im not trying to start an argument with you.I enjoy all types of motorsports and have been in the auto restoration business for 30 plus years and have owned many kinds of performance cars.Im currently building a Boss 429 clone(1970) for myself and the engine for it is a Jon Kaase 600 ci Boss stroker that dynos more than 1000 hp at the flywheel. Will be posting some vids in a couple months.

  • @kawasakif3 I'm not saying the zr1 will outrun this car on the strip, but the fastest record of a stock zr1 with stock tires is 10.7- @ 133( RangerC6ZO6 ) and that is without slicks and having 200+ hp less than this car . I'm not trying to argue either, and am looking forward to having a career in automotive. And I will be glad to check out that 70 mustang, those are my favorite mustang second the new edge SVT's.

  • would of been nice if he would of just fired it up and let the engine do the talking lol

  • hey cragar

I was wondering what the 3 speed tranny was in there. Any guesses why they went with the c6 and not a toploader. seems they would get a better 1/4 with a different tranny.

  • Honestly, I don't know why the decision to use a C6. I believe the C6 used in the 604 is geared a little different than a standard C6, but I am not for sure. You bring a good point up though, with 1.9 seconds 0-60 times and 10.80s et., a different trans might help the car balance things out a bit.

  • ive been to that warehouse

  • Ah, the Cammer! Ford's answer to the HEMI. It was a stock car motor, and when it was outlawed, there was no reason for ford to continue production of the SOHC 427.

It's the only engine to ever be banned by NASCAR.

  • The Boss 429 motor had hemispherical combustion chambers. Ford sold the idea of the hemispherical heads to Mopar. So the "hemi" was Mopar's answer to Ford's motors.

  • so its a stock 429 orrr what did they do to the 429 i want to know plz cause i got a 429cobrajet motor!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • The car has a T code 429 Boss engine in it that has been bored and stroked to 604c.i.d. It has a custom intake built by Roush, converted to EFI, C6 transmission, off road exhaust wrapped in ceram header wrap, 1 3/4" custom headers, 72# injectors, and SVO side out exhaust, to name a few. The car puts out an underrated 855hp and goes 0-60 in 1.9 seconds!!! I have ridden in this monster before it got sold to Jack... AWESOME!!!

  • aight thanks........did you shit your pants?????????

and does it get atleast 2 miles per gaollon lol

  • Don't know the fuel mileage, but probably something like 2 gallons to the mile, if anything. ;) It is definately an AWESOME car! It feels like somebody is pounding you in the chest when you are in it, super sweet! In the center console is a little button for the line locks, and in the gauge cluster is a sticker that reads "110 octane only"... they mean it! This, and the Ford Super Stallion are truly two Ford Mustang Supercars.

  • WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey...quit talking...your slinging shit everywhere

  • What the Hell are you talking about? I said nothing bad about this car, matter of fact it is aswesome! I have ridden in it back when it was in SVTs hands (Pre-Jack Roush), nothing at all bad to say about it. I have pics of me in this car, as well as many, many friends who saw me in it. I got to ride in the car because of a very good friend of mine who worked for SVT (Steve Anderson). Sorry dude, but it is true, rode in it in Augusta at the MCA Grand Ntnls. couple of years ago.

  • 604 cubes =O

  • This car should've been available for public purchase !!

  • There should be a church of roush.

  • need4zpeed, Where would the "challenge" in THAT be? LOL!

  • Long way from the Gapp and Roush Pinto, huh Jack? Still got a Maverick 4-door sitting dusty in a back corner? Chevy, Schmevy! Ford wins (again)

  • Jack, Please let take it for a spin?!?

  • Cool! Thanks!

BTW, that's one of my favorite motors from GM as well.

  • Can anyone of you diehard 'Stang fans tell me if I can get a crate Boss 429 motor from Ford should I ever decide that the current Mustang GT is severely underpowered? Thanks, in advance.

  • Well, for some bizarre reason a crate BOSS 429 is not available from Ford. How about a nice 514 with 650 hp? No? Maybe a 605 with 800 hp? Get out your wallet.

  • BOSS 429! powerfullest stang engine!

  • I love this car, I remember buying the Car and Driver that put the Boss and the ZL1 Camaro against each other.
