Even so, cats are attracted by movement and since it is a wild animal, it may still attack. Bobcats and linxes are both not extrememly dangerous when it comes to attacking people for food but it does pose a threat to one's safety. That's why one shouldn't make sudden movements; cats spook easily and don't take it lightly.

If you run from it, it just naturally believe you are lower on the food chain. I think it's good advice not to run from any animal you feel threatened by. I've heard it from a lot of zoologists.
