i don't know about you all but i miss jill's style and flair. jess walton was lovely in the early years-a mixture of anne baxter, susan st. james & jacklyn smith all rolled into one. nowadays jill is so drab and has lost her sex appeal. brenda dickson had class-she was able to transcend the script even when jill did nefarious things
The 80's were by far the best years for soaps. Storylines were much better developed the creative team was in fact"creative" and the cast was 'mature" and experienced.
Terry Lester was phenomenal. What a good looking man. I can watch his clips 24/7. Jill the diva worked it like no other diva. (girl, work those shoulder pads and puff puff hair dos like the rent is due). All hail to the 80's. Love it!
Y&R was such a great show during this time. This show has gone completely downhill since Bill Bell's passing. I'm quite sure he would not be pleased with the direction (or rather mis-direction) his show has taken over the past few years. The Jill character has been destroyed with the ridiculous "who's Jill's family" insanity as well as the Phillip/Cane Jill's son storyline.
Ah, vintage Jack and Jill. It's a shame those two will never clash again. Now Jack is married to a psycho claiming to be Emily. How pathetic has the show gotten since Terry Lester's departure? RIP Terry Lester.
This was the beginning of one of soap's longest divorce stories. A jilted lover of Jack's -Lindsey Wells- turns out to have been taking pictures of this no-no action, blackmails Jack into a marriage that proves to be fraudulent, then Lindsey sells the same pictures of Jill and Jack to Katherine Chancellor, who gleefully uses them to put the screws to Jill for months. With many twists and turns, including a shooting, the divorce wasn't over till the dawning of 1987.
So funny that Jill mentioned redocorating... Sharon was supposed to do it decades later... and yet, I don't think the Abbott living room has changed at all in nearly thirty years.
This Nov 1983. Brenda had just returned that September, love this storyline, thanks for taking the time to post, if you have anymore from this story please post.

Was it ever explained how Margo Lynley happened to be out in that snowstorm snapping photos through the cabin window?
