@TPMessi No, I wouldn't. It is a dominant breed and dificult to " read " for a novice . I mean , their corporal signals and dominant behabiours are very subtle and slight so usually go unnoticed by people who already own a dog but are new to this kind of breed . So for first time owners its is even harder to know what their akitas are thinking, and they do "think" a lot .
why everytime i see a video like this i hear ppl complaining. dont get a powerful breed if you cant handle the cute growling. my goodness youtube is filled with a bunch of now it alls
I have an akita and she's now 4... i play rough with her because she's a big dog and can take it and never has she ever been threatening towards me... love her to bits! It's just playing.... beautiful pup btw... so adorable
If i would go out with my american akitas and first play with them like that, and then there is coming a dog, my akitas would kill them if they would get a chance for something like that. You get an agressive feeling for that- even it's just a game.
i love how you put your hand on his chest and he calms down! i love love love it... all dogs love to play rough and they understand when it is play and when it isn't...
MY WHOLE LIFE I BEEN AROUND AKITAS IM NOW 20 YEARS OLD AND I MUST SAY THIS IS THE WAY TO PLAY WITH THEM. I ALWAYS DO THIS WITH ALL OF THEM. I KNOW THEY LOVE THIS KIND OF GAME. I STILL WRESTLE WITH MY TWO YEAR OLD !!
lovely little beauty and the way she is handling the puppy is perfect, no violence but showing them you are the powerful leader and when they grow to 60kg they will still think u r the more powerful plus they love to play/wrestle as most breeds do, i have a little 7month american akita playful as hell but i trust my life he wouldnt be aggressive to anybody just over playful if anything!

teasing an akita... do you know anything about the breed? akitas dont take kindly to being teased, one day it will rip your head off if you carry on treating it like that. Playing with it is fine, grabbing its cheeks/neck/head and skin isnt playing with it. Maybe read up on how to properly rear Akitas first before filling your house with them and pissing them off.
@modrono Hi, I totally agree with you, my Akita is agressive to other dogs and people that he doesnt know, but i play with my akita and i pull his skin and hug him hard, squeeze his face they are so adorable, and he doesnt do nothing, Akita are dogs that need lot of love from owner and time being spent with them...
@mestonian you know this girl is playing the right way,the way she grabs the pup is the perfect way to show that she is the pack leader, especially at the most powerful breed out of 400,she is going to be a good packleader, you are very wrong and she is very right!
mate, all akitas as puppy play like this ... when they grow they are extreamly loyal if you treat them right. just use common sense on them and play .they are naturaly protective and very friendly towards the master... with another dogs and strangers they show aggresion.
Hi, would you recommend Akitas for first time owners?

I miss my Akita... Yes they can be violent but that is all in how you raise them. She did nothing that is out of line when playing with this breed.

@mestonian
You are the only one here that doesn't know anything about akitas, what do you think you are talking about'? a crocodile?
20 years owning akitas, playing with pups and 60 kg adults exactly like that and my head is still on my shoulders.
Do you even own an akita?? Learn something before you speak .

@xsmokexs then how come i heard, that they try to dominate and bite you to take over to be the dominant, master at around 7 months.
BUt in ALL, that akita puppy is playing? and showing no aggresion?
RandomVideoism 2 years ago
@RandomVideoism if u treat them right and u show them that your the boss but in a reasonable way then they wouldnt try and dominate you
