that is a director's cut scene in the beginning of the movie.after the shot. Snake tries to run away, but the police catches him.you can find that scene on youtube.

i wouldn't consider metal gear to be a VG version of Escape. Dont get me wrong, i've been playing MGS and it rocks, even with the long cut scenes.
Even though SS is based on PLissken, i thik that the two Snakes are definatly two different people.
