good movie, except for adam's character. she gets a business op from a married guy she's sleeping with, gets another guy to hold her hand while in business, flakes out and loses the business and daddy comes to the rescue.

adams better be careful of becoming a weak-woman screen icon. if she takes one more role like this, it'll be the role she'll play for her entire career.

Mary Lynn R. who plays nurse Lynn did an article for the Advocate last year. Apparently there were a lot of scenes cut out of the movie involving her character and Emily's. They actually go out on a date and kiss, there is another scene after Lynn tells Norah to leave her alone. So my guess is Emily's character is at least bi curious. What I don't know is Norah liked Lynn because she felt they could relate to one another or if she was genuinely attracted to her. I prefer to think it was B!

It's left open-ended. In the scene where the nurse, Lynn, is eating from Norah's candy necklace, you can see in her expression a bit of discomfort but you can assume by the fact that she keeps asking Lynn out on dates that she's at least a little interested in her. So basically, it's left for the imagination of the audience.

Originally she kissed this woman in the movie, but they cut it out. I'm not sure if her character is portrayed as gay.

I saw the movie last night and there was the scene with the candy necklaces. They still kissed there.

Nora and the nurse are at a club/bar/whatever it is and the nurse makes a comment about her necklace still being full. Nora says that she likes the white ones and the nurse says she wants to try a white one. The nurse eats a candy and kisses her, but Nora isn't really interrested in her.

(The only reason Nora is hanging around with the nurse is to tell her that her mom had died. Nora treats her like a friend, but the nurse thinks Nora wants more.)

It just sucks that the only theatres that are actually playing it are so spread out. The nearest one from where I live was 2 hours away.

It's SO worth the drive though. The movie is amazing!

Actually, your spoiler is only half right. True Norah does seek out Lynn to tell her about her mother. But ultimately, she continues to seek her out because she's under the impression they can relate to one another. The nature of their relationship is the only thing left wide open. I believe it's possible Norah wasn't gay, just looking to connect with someone. But I also believe that Lynn may have made her realize something about sexuality. Who knows. Either way, Lynn changed Norah.
