80 kph? The fastest I ever clocked myself on my racer, on the flat, was 45kph and that was just seeing how fast I could go when I had a near gale force wind pushing me! To manage almost double that at the end of a day's ride, possibly riding into the wind is just incredible.

the reason that Cavendish has won so many sprints is that he has such a good team to get him there. Hushovd doesn't have that support, so i would say that he is a better sprinter, since he do much of the work by himself. I'm not hating on Mark, and he is a amazing rider, but that is just my opinion.

@Flatval94 if you saw the champs elyseé 2010 cavndish did'nt have so much support and he was playing with thor and the other sprinters...i'm from norway and a hushovd fan but Cavandish is to fast for him but thor is better in the mountains

hushovd is better in hills and some times sprint but cavendish has a amazing accelration and thoe hushovd is master in down hill

@paintballheltene Thor Hushovd has been given the name "The Bull" That talks for itselfs.... (Thor is a stronger sprinter than Cavendish!)

@instinctdonniedarko I dont have any proof,,, sorry... But i Serious! I watched it live and the commentator said that the speed of the peleton was up to 72km/t ! And Mark Cavendish satt a new world record on a road bike,, in the sprint he had a speed on 75km/t !!!
