I know this is a cover of the original, but I have been confused all these years as to why it was omitted from the soundtrack release. I soley bought the soundtrack to hear this track, and was not there. Lame!
@smjjohnson yeah man it does sound like Jan Hammer and MIAMI VICE. this movie was epic for the Beverly Hills saga. its ashame that the 3rd movie wasnt great. Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer wasnt there to produce it since they were too busy to film other movies back in 1994
They could have stopped making movies in 1990 if you ask me. There was already enough for any persons lifetime i think. But probably a good thing people don't ask me.
i completely agree with you, on all three of these statements. I however found number 2 just a bit better than number 1. and i am not even going to bother about number 3.
Yes, Faltermeyer did use some of the notes from John carpenter's escape from new york, ie percussion, cowbell, and that high pitched synth. still, Faltermeyer's Beverly Hills cop 2 score is a nice tribute to carpenter's original.
"Sound the alarm, you got a break in!"... "I need authorization..." (Rosewood and Foley break out sidearms, shoot the shit out of the alarm box) "AUTHORIZED!!"
the vocal version comes in the beverly hills cop 1 and 2 the lost tracks album but still there is music yet to be heard but still is nice and im gonna download this instrumental version too

and the irony is that Carpenter partially based his theme upon Fad Gadget's Ricky's Hand.
