LOL There's like about 6 fights of Krystal and Alexis, one or two with Stephanie Beacham, one with Kirby, Dominique slapped her once, but Alexis and Dominique did have a fight once that I know. I think that all the people that wanted to fight Alexis should have taken a number. Alexis should have taken karate! lol This was a terrific show. I watched it every Wednesday night. After the fire which Joseph set to the cabin when Alexis and Krystle were inside, Alexis' hair was badly burnt and had to be cut -- That was how they explained her new look. Now, the explanation for why she held onto it for FIVE WHOLE seasons has never been revealed, but that's the one that I'm waiting for.

Unless the beret fell off (which it didnt) or was burned through (which it wasn't) that doesnt work! I guess the writers doubted viewers would care about small details.

Haha I think that is a good question that needs answering (why she kept that same ugly hairdo for 5 seasons)! The shorter hair just makes her look so much older-- and less attractive in my opinion. I think more than likely Joan got an unexpected haircut in between seasons, and they had to write it into the script!

I agree, Parkguy. The shorter hair DID age Alexis quite a bit. When she was waltzing around starting trouble in seasons 2 and 3 with her longer, shoulder length, layered raven hair she was the very essence of that stoic, aristocratic, blue-blooded Lady of The Manor type of thing that Alexis had going until she became a one dimensional comic-book villain. After a while, I began to loathe her mullet.

With both Linda and Joan their respective hair styles was, according to the producers, was "part" of the character. Linda joked in an interview once if she had changed her hair style w/out checking w/the producers..she'd be recast! During the hiatus's in later yrs Joan did wear her hair longer which made me wonder if infact in later yrs what she had was a wig wether on or off the show.

Joan took a firm allegiance to wigs many years ago, and wore them all throughout Dynasty. For the most part, you can tell the difference between when she's wearing her own hair with or without pieces from the times where she's wearing a wig. The first scene in this clip when she catches Dex in Amanda is a wig... And it doesn't appear to be a very good one. In the scenes with Kirby and Blake, that's her own hair.

This was stated as though she didn't wear her real hair quite often... so let me clarify, that for the most part, what we saw was her own. It just got "interspersed" with a wig here and there VERY often. Linda wore wigs, too, although it was often impossible to tell the difference given the styles... well STYLE that she uses. It was probably a lot faster to get through hair & makeup this way.

Joan's first yr hair style was great...there is a clip of her leaving the mansion looking very Betty Davis esque. In reference to "bad hair" I have a pic of Joan and Linda in one of their "staged" pics...both of whom are not having good hair days. Maybe dark root exposure was the thing in 1982?

That "part of the character" stuff is just rubbish. With every statement, those producers throw weight behind what the die-hard fans have been saying forever - and that's that they turned everyone into cartoons and ruined the show with this point and click rhetoric for how the show should be carried out. That statement just shows how foolishly they went about things and ruined something that was once WONDERFUL and practically flawless.

I will always remember Alexis in the lovely way that you mentioned her. When she was the aristocratic beauty who enjoys painting, shooting, and causing all kinds of misery for her x-husbands new wife! Seasons 2 and 3 are what I choose to remember.
