Arnel Pineda is an excellent singer, by any measure of excellence. Comparing him to other singers, including Perry, in no way diminishes his talents as a singer. He deserves praise and credit, and he is the best thing to happen to Journey in a long time. That being said, Steve Perry is simply in a class by himself as a vocalist. It's not an insult to Pineda to say that he isn't at Perry's level. There are very few rock vocalists who even begin to approach the level of talent possessed by Perry.
