lol, it went from being "mint" toa heck of a lot of little dings. Nice shiny paint & chrome etc, BUT every corner is dinged up!!!!! one ding here and another ding there, here a ding there a ding everywhere a ding ding, haha. I had a 1980 Chevette that was 100% perfectly mint, no ding, no scratch nothing. Sold it many years ago due to very unsafe brakes it had, they would lock-up in the wet weather when applied even lightly. Almost hit people MANY times but never did. Scared me so i sold it...
hi nice to meet you here! i'm from tokyo, japan. so i guess that's maybe based on toyota mark2 which is called GX51 or GX41 generally. sorry if not...anyway, i actually enjoyed your video! bye bye
If anyone's interested, this car has been mechanically restored and can be driven anywhere. It is currently available for a reasonable offer in excess of $6600. Contact mechanic80_2000@yahoo.com Dents and dings still exist, as it is arguably more valuable as an original survivor. Write for full details. 61K miles showing
I hate to say it, but this car is NOT in "mint" condition. The guy said himself, it has a few dents and scrapes and the tail light on the driver's side was busted. Anyway, this car looks awesome!! This model year and the 1977 Cressidas are awesome looking!! Thanks for posting, man!!
UPDATE: New Carburetor; went from 13 to 25 MPG. New Carpet and sheepskin seat covers to preserve that pristine interior. Replaced plastic wheel covers with original 1979 pieces. New shocks all around, handles beautifully @75 MPH if thats what you like, but to me it's more a Boulevard Cruiser. Rear doors and rear window lightly (bronze) tinted. Was gonna do all the bodywork and repaint, but it's more valuable unrestored. Local Toyota dealer went GAGA over it last Saturday!
@mechanic801 I Love it THANK YOU for keeping in touch i Loved that car itwas t Favorite Toyota i have ever owned. and you got the right idea the car looks great i wouldent paint it till it really needed it. Oh my gosh. I have a 1978 that got in a wreck a long time ago and this video (in 720p) was just beautiful. A great inspiration video for when I restore it! Never take this video down!
Just replaced the catalytic converter and the muffler. Considerable driveability improvement! Hope that improves the gas mileage too. Now, it's pretty much cosmetics and she'll be good as new.
@mechanic801 Thats very nice to hear Norbert You have a Great car there it is Very enjoyable and a great Investment... By the way i just got a 1977 Toyota Corona Wagon in if you know anyone..;-p Nathan 406 544 6919

I bought this car last month. Flew into San Diego and drove it back to New Mexico. A bit of a gamble but no problems. The tires were not "brand new" they were over 5 years old and there are a few more blemishes than the video shows but it wasn't advertised as a new car and I knew what I was getting into. Fortunately, this car is old enough that things can be fixed instead of replaced. So far I've saved hundreds by repairing things. I'll keep posting and updating.
wow you brought back memories love your video my grandmother had the exact car cool. now to this day i have a beautiful silver 1984 toyota cressida it was willed to me 10 years ago still drive it every day .you made one mistake this is the car made before the toyota avalon not the lexus love thanks so much for this video

The correct pronunciation of "Cressida" is "KRES-ih-duh", not "kres-AH-duh" or "kres-IH-dee-uh", OK?

You pronounced the name correctly the first time: Cressida. Nice looking car. I've never owned one of my own, but I've known people who have.

@misstia1979 It was made before Lexus, too. Cressida was discontinued because it overlapped with Lexus.
