@blacksabfan is the coolest person on the entire internet. To question or insult him is to admit you are a moron. Long Live Lizzy and blacksabfan, a true purveyor of wisdom and taste.
Besides, what does someone's random comment about Gary Moore have to do with my post? I think everyone to some degree wants to look "cool" and be comfortable with themselves and their appearance. If I look good in ray-bans and chuck taylors, I'm going to wear those things. Why? Because it's what I want to do, and if anyone has a problem with that, then fuck them. If you don't like it because you have this misconception that I'm doing it for other reasons, then fuck you too. It's not about you.
Blah, blah, blah.... After endless interpretations of my words - coming along with insultions and "fucks" i get tired of your boring decadent comments. Go and tell your girlfriend that you´re so damned right, start to cry, or waste the time of other members here. Put on your Ray Ban and chuck taylors or write a book or something. My time is too expensive to waste it here with ignorant assholes. It´s not about you. Cheers
How exactly am I wasting other members' time? Shit, I'm not even wasting your time. You choose to keep commenting. Then again, in your style, you whine about my use of swearing, and end another rant calling me an asshole. This is like the third time you've done something hypocritical. I'm just going to call you "hypocrisy king" from now on, because that's all you do.
Now thinking about it, is there any time where you don't post something hypocritical?
You make this rant about YouTube being a platform where anyone can state their opinions/comments, but then at the end of the rant, you tell me I should just "shut up". No, I don't think I will, because I have just as much right to state MY opinions, one of which is that you were being rude, and I didn't see it as a joke "with a blinking eye". That's MY opinion, and if you don't like it, you can just "shut up".
OK - you really want to know what i care about reasons for dressing? I´m working in the music buisness and i´m sick of some people doing everything to look cool - Tattoos, Piercing, Ray Ban etc. But - once more - this has nothing to do with coolness. That was and is still my statement. Some statements lower someone describes Gary Moore as a fat cunt. Is it important for Gary Moore to look cool? No! Because he can do something great musically - thats important. And really cool.
Well, sounds like you have a personal problem with people in the music business, that doesn't mean you take it out on people you don't even know.
Good to know it wasn't really a joke after all though, like you tried to claim in one of your previous ramblings. Just sounds like you're pissed off about something you really can't control. If someone thinks Gary Moore isn't cool, then who gives a shit, that's their fucking opinion. Gary probably doesn't care and neither should you.
Gary Moore could be mistaken for John Prescott these days, the big fat cunt that he is. Some guitarist though. I don't think he'd have hit the big time to the degree that he did without the influence of Phil.
Phil is the reason I decided to start wearing Chuck Taylors and Ray-ban sunglasses when I go out. He was the epitome of class and style, and not only in how he looked, but how he acted. Leave out the drugs and he's the type of person that there needs to be more of in the world.
@blacksabfan and all those leatherjacket-RayBan Freaks:
to be cool has nothing to do with wich close you ware or if you got ray ban glasses. It´s an attitiude resulting from a kind of tolerance and a sense of humor. I bet that you wanna-bees forgot that in being too busy in trying to look "coooooool"...
That said, the idea of "coolness" is entirely subjective and varies from person to person. If what you claimed I was implying was true, I wouldn't be any more right or wrong than you are. I bought those things because I liked them. Not just because Phil Lynott liked them. However, feel free to keep making stupid assumptions that aren't correct.
Additionally, the point of my original comment is quite clear...that his physical appearance goes along with the kind of person he was. Laid back and self confident. You must not of read that part, and just decided to start insulting people that freely choose to imitate some of his better qualities. With that in mind, you're exactly the type of person Phil wasn't...a judgmental prick.
I did NOT insult you! Read my comment once more. You did insult me with comments like "Stupid assumptions" or "judgmental Prick" telling my comment is "incorrect" - as i said in my 1st comment: Coolness has to do with TOLERANCE and a kind of HUMOR. Obviously you got a lack in both! Judging me what kind of person i am?! A judgmental prick?! I think YOU are exactly the kind of person Phil never was - not me. And wearing RayBan glasses will not bring you a tad closer to you idol.
"Leather jacket ray ban wearing freaks" isn't an insult? I took it as an insult. I don't find a "freak" a term of endearment. But that's just me.
I find you preaching to me about tolerance completely asinine. I wear what I wear because I LIKE IT. I actually wore chuck taylors long before I KNEW of Phil Lynott. So wrong again. You calling people freaks so no tolerance whatsoever. You're just acting like an asshole.
And damn straight I insulted you. You had it coming.
I also think "coolness" involves having a certain confidence in yourself, in that when some asshole insults you and calls you a freak, you take a stand against them and don't let them get away with it.
Saying you're tolerant and then turning around and calling a certain group of people freaks based on how they choose to dress (whether it's done to imitate someone or not) is the exact opposite of being tolerant. At least I'm not a stupid, hypocritical, asshole though like you.
What is your problem? I was a little provocative with my comment - with a blinking eye. Maybe that it was too much for you. Insulting someone is that what you do. Why is it so hard for you to get critisized? YouTube is a platform where everyone can state comments and be commented. Instead of thinkng about what i wrote you end up with justifications and Insultions. When you can´t stand any critics without insulting members then it´s better for you to shut up.
My problem is that I didn't appreciate your condescension, name-calling, and INTOLERANCE. What the fuck do you care anyway how anyone dresses and their reasons for doing so? Ever heard of live and let live? That's the very definition of tolerance. Not calling people freaks who do things a certain way because you don't like it.
I don't see how I'm any way out of line. I think you're mad that you got called out for being the hypocrite that you are.
Gary Moore would be a lot bigger now and Lynott may still be alive if Moore had just appreciated Lynott's talents and been a bit more supportive, instead of always pursuing his own goals. Not enough is ever said about Scott Gorham, as far as I'm concerned, Gorham was Phil's main man and faithful supporter over the years, but he was somewhat taken for granted and not regarded as being the best lead guitarist for Phil. Personally, I think he should have been given more of chance.
I agree with you that Gorham was far too under-rated because he played some of the best ever guitar pieces in Lizzy. Reading Lizzy biographies, one gets the sense that he was somewhat overshadowed by both Robertson and Moore and was not quite as confident (crazy, I know). I don't agree with you though about Lynott maybe still being alive if he had more support. Lynott's drug use was out of control
I think Lynott's drug use went out of control as a direct result of his disillusionment. In the early days, he was a highly spirited musician with ambition and a whole bunch of great material and ideas. I just can't help feeling that certain people in his circle should have better recognised he was the man and gave him his due. I think in the end like a lot of great musicians, he basically lost his original direction. I haven't read any biographies... I should pick up a couple.
Definitly! it is always Moore and Robertson who get all the credit, i dont think ive EVER heard Gorham get the credit he deserves. Completely underrated, he was also the best looking, and his guitar playing wasnt bad either, Bad Reputation anyone?
Scott Gorham = *STILL* the only Lizzy guitarist who did not quit the band.
@mgraeme Same here on Gorham. Gary Moore is one of my favorite guitarist ever, and he alongside the other "Boys" from Thin Lizzy, created my personal favorite Thin Lizzy album BLACK ROSE. However, Gorham had a lot more growth inside the Lizzy party. On every album he was on, from the good times to the bad, there was improvement and innovative playing. The Bad Reputation album is the one album that Gorham GREW on, from aggressive and raw, to melodic and emotional. He is an underrated GOD.
@goopah Gary was a bluesman (he also liked jazz) you can't blame him for not wanting to stay in Thin Lizzy and going his own way.
I have a friend he's a rap fan, composing music, raping and stuff, I like blues and jazz, do I have to stay suportive for something that i DO NOT like?
If you believe in body language , moore has shifted to the side of the chair that is furthest away from lynott. And he's got his arms crossed, a defensive gesture. Make
Newcastle Evening said on 21 4 2009 Maybe it was just the sound. All night Moores three-piece backing band were struggling for a voice.
