  • The fan's not turning, that's probably the problem.

  • Bad defrost.

  • its carrier.... low on freon. evap coil

  • ridiculous ..............

  • Probablemente el culpable sea el motor del ventilador. Si este no funciona, el Heat Pump se congela si esta en el ciclo de calefaccion

  • its Carrier send it back to Mexico and have them rebuild it

  • @hypnos315 always depending on us mexicanos to fix your shit!! it"ll be extra s&h.

  • @danielcastro3669 OK my turn thought it was odd Hispanics doing what we Americans should be doing!? Today i got a full lessen on this problem saw a full crew of Hispanics working there butts off(setting up a mobile home),then across the the two men working on a project for me,messing it up the whole time, and telling me about all the short cuts to take just to be done sooner, which in turn would cause the project to fail,to the tune of $2000.00 and my reputation.

  • @hypnos315 its not a Mexico problem, it is a Carrier management problem

  • oh and switch to cooling mode so that the outdoor unit can defrost

  • hi! i reckon you've got a leakage somehwere.

check for oil residue along the pipework

  • @dur2519 More like either a bad defrost sensor or bad defrost board.

  • What was the diagnosis from your serviceman?

  • thats a carrier for you lololol

  • change run cap for cond fan motor

  • Well at least you can use it as a beer cooler.

  • that heat pump is frozen solid ice

  • had the same thing happening to mine when temp dropped below zero( winters 2010 and 2011, Tampa, Florida ) tech said unit was running low on freon, so putting some more improved the situation, it is now freezing not as much as before.

  • lol its an iceberg straight ahead

  • ohh it was defrosting???

well it don't look like it's defrosting. make sure it's switching to cool mode for defrost. reversing valve's probably stuck in heat mode. or the boards bad. those boards are most likely time temperature initiated temperature terminated, check the board. or the defrost sensor's not closing, well, let me know what the problem was. i'd start with the board, short the test pins and the defrost thermostat

  • you've obvviously got a bad fan, that fan should be turning

  • @sickbastard80 fan doesnt turn during defrost procedure.

  • if those are AC, time for a filter change, motor check of leak test !! if it's a HP... defrost sequence is defect !!

  • @Bizouman007 Un filtro tupido puede causar que se congele el "evaporator coil", no el condenser coil.

  • Those older Carriers are good units

  • yeah i agree with you expecially the round ones from 1970
