@Joshatdot Make sure that the hinge pin that connects the mixer head to the mixer base is installed correctly. My mixer was doing the same thing the other day and I found that the pin had vibrated out by about an inch. Slid the pin back in and the wobble will go away.
I took the all apart, following your grease video. I also removed the hinge pin. After I took off the planetary gear, I saw tiny metal bits (not much) in one area of the housing. I inspected every bit in there, and I did not see any broken teeth. I then opened up the motor housing, and gave it a through inspection & tightened any screws. Everything looked great, grease was 90% clean, hardly any dark. I put it back together and everything is great!
Thank you so much for this helpful tutorial! I was actually researching why my beater makes a clicking sound when it rotates. any idea why it is making that sound?
Dear Mark, thanks for a very easy to understand video about the adjustment of the beater. I'm surely going to watch the other videos.
When I follow your instructions, the beater still hits the bottom of the bowl, unless I adjust the height to the point where the head does not lock into place - can you offer any advice? Can any other part of the Mixer influence this?
Thanks for explaining how to adjust the beater height, Mark. I didn't know this was the cause for my beater wearing out on the bottom. And thanks to the reviewer on Amazon, under the K45 replacement flat beater link, for making me aware of the video.
Hi Mark, thank you very very much for your kind reply and your valid help. The rubbing of the wire whisk was not so severe really, anyway I followed your very useful advice bending the wire on the whisk just a little bit and now it goes very well without touching or hitting the bowl. If i have further questions which can arise using my new KitchenAid stand mixer i will ask you. I appreciate you very much.
Hi Mark, i need your help please, i adjusted the flat beater of my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer using the little coin as you did in your video, and it's all ok, but at the same time when i use the wire whisk i hear a little metal sound when it whisks in the bowl. I ask you is this normal or i must adjust everytime the flat beater when i use it and everytime the wire whisk when i use this. I'm waiting for your kind reply, thank you in advance.
@Ugor21 A little rubbing from the wire whisk is normal. The flat beater has a rigid shape that never changes. It is possible that the wire whisk can get bent a little during washing or storage. If the rubbing isn't severe I wouldn't worry about it. If it rubs badly then you can try bending the wire on the whisk a little bit.
Thank you very much for your demonstration, but I wonder if I could use the same technique (including the dime) for the Kitchen Professional 600 series with a metalic beater?
Thank you very much!!! I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my mixer and was about to call a repair person. This did the trick!

I have my K45SS adjusted correctly .. but my head still seems to wobble. Is there another adjustment for the locking lever?

so is that how it's supposed to be? barely moving the dime but definitely moving it?
clwhite1 1 year ago
@clwhite1 exactly, the dime should move just a bit each time the beater strikes it.
Thanks!
