hey does anybody know how i can run the Catalyst control center ??? because when i install it i only get a fuckin install manager, no more, and i need the catalyst control center to customize my HD 4850, can anybody help me ?
I highly recommend mixing the video settings on high-very high~ It depends on what resolution you plan on playing, however. If you're lower than 1680 x 1050, it should run smoothly on very high settings.
Show me some benchmarks where the 8800GT outperforms the HD4850 because the reviews I've been reading, show that the HD4850 is on par with the 9800GTX; both cards (4850/9800GTX) outperforming the 8800GT.
I just bought CRYSIS 1 right, and loaded onto my new comp which can play it at max settings. The fukd thing is, the main menu and 'esc' menu does NOT, I repeat NOT, have a fuckin mouse curser. WTF dudes?! Can any1 help me PLEASE... Im dying not being able to quikly select any of the system settings without having to "Ghost" my mouse around the screen. Please help me Im desperate.
Ionno if I am right or wrong but I surfed many forums all complains about why Crysis is slow even on high....I have a HD4870X2 and still lags.....the thing is some guys say that Crysis was dedicated for Nvidea, so it is normal that ATI won't run it cool no matter how strong the vid card is, < That's what they say, donno whether it's right or wrong, but seems to have some sense...
If you have any tools that tell you in-depth information about your card, you may be running your 4870X2 on "2D or Low 3D" settings, clocking them down to 200-400Mhz core clock. Your full core clock would be 2-3x more powerful.
Does it say Unsupported driver? (I'm more Nvidia than ATi, so I don't know ATi software/drivers as well)
On the line that says "Customize" there should be an arrow pointing bottom right. Once clicked, a small window will pop up beside it and show 3-4 icons. Click the blue slot that looks like a video card, from that point, it'll show your clocks and everything.
i always have been using intel-nvidia combination...i have a gigabyte g-31 mobo,dual core e22160 and nvidia 9600gso...im planning a q6700 and hd4850 in my mobo...is that possible? please help.
gso is to slow to game yea the HD4850 wil be nice voor your bord but you need a 450 watt power suple minium but your processor is slow too thast a little too bad whats your memory spec
i have a thermaltake 420w 12v-25 amp. and if i get a q9400 instead. wud that be good? my mem is currently 2gbs ddr2 667mhz. i don plan any kinds of overclock.i run only one hdd.
its funny, cos my old PC had those specs to the exact and it got 3FPS average. couldnt play for more then 10 minutes. not being a smart ass, i just think they should get more accuret with the specs they say on these games.

Nice gameplay, but who know, after what time from the freezing moment of Radeon HD 4850, the Vpu Recover shows a comunicate ?? :) I want to know that, because I have a little problem with this card.
no way... I had a radeon X1600 and a pentium Dualcore with 3.0ghz and 3gigs ram for a while, it started but it was a lagfest... at low setting and low res... you wont even be albe to start it.

Hey dude im trying to buy an ATI RADEON HD 4850 but i dont know the difference between Asus and Sapphire etc.. which one should i buy and why / low prices would be reccomended.
And is the quality as good and how cheap is hte asus from the saphirre. Overall what would you reccomend. I really want to buy whats best and i dont want to pay olike 300 dollars for a video card ive seen some of those at 120
Is RADEON HD5850 so much better than Geforce 9800gtx? i have an XFX GeForce 9800gtx and i cant get a playable FPS when i Activate AA 0_o i cant even have 2 AA.... i can play the same Ress as he do but with no AA, and i have 8g ram,
I already know what the problem was I have a Asus P5Q Deluxe and my HD 4850 was in the X16 slot. Today I did the HD 4850 in the 2.0 slot and then I am getting performance near to this.
I would like to have HD 4850, but my friends has 9600GT, and he says it's great, and it runs nearly every game at max. settings. Little help if anyone has experience of those 2 cards, plz?
9600gt suck ass compared to the hd 4850 if you want a nvidia card that can compare to the pure awesomeness that is the 4850 get yourself a 9800 GTX+ but honestly it is overpriced the 4850 runs just as good as this card but it is cheaper
I have a Phenom 9600,4Gb RAM,780G MOBO and a HD 4850 it only gets 20-25fps!:S and how the heck I set the Hybrid Crossfire on!? This is my first build so be patient ..PLEASE HELP..
You don't need CrossFire support from your integrated graphics. If anything, it'll make your in-game performance even worse because it's splitting the load between the 4850 and 780G Video Chip. Also consider overclocking the 9600 because Crysis doesn't properly utilize all 4 cores of your CPU so having a higher clock speed will definitely assist in game performance.
Thanks..! but i ve tried to OC my Phenom with some tools (AMD Overdrive) and I cant get a good OC ...Can you tell how to OC my phenom enough to play Crysis..it sounds quiet bad though
where is youre problem you motherfucker my live is not the computer that i need a computer like you . And lett me guess you are so addicted to computer games that you have stollen the computer from you´re dad and he is addicted to pc games and porn´s with fat girls so he fucks with you´re mom if he likes fat girls!!
@ gaara7809 ..thanks man..actually i utilized my money in changing 8600gts with HD 4850 + i got 650watt corsair PSU(coming tomorrow).now i dont have money for CPU..its 3.2ghz(stock) dual core..can i overclock ? just want to know if i can get high performance with this card on so low resolutions.i dont want to upgrade 17" lcd coz otherwise requirements will increase & it will increase load on proc.. cant i play on high settings with this proc at such low settings?thanks in advance :) take care !
When you mentioned that you have 3.2 GHz Dual Core stock, I'm gonna assume that you have the Pentium D. If that's the case, it's gonna bottleneck your card. Not by much, but enough to justify upgrading the processor. You'll still be able to play high settings with 1280 x 1024 resolution. Hope this helps.
thanks a ton dude :) well i will change my processor & then lcd .. right now m playing games at high settings with HD4850 :D but as you said .. it IS bottlenecking my card .. so change is necessary now .. anyways .. thanks to all you out there .. keep gaming :)
Shit man, ive got Pentium D 3.20GHz and im getting more ram and the 4850 tomorrow, when you say bottleneck does that mean its not going to look as good? or will it run slower etc
can anyone tell me if i can utilise my HD4850 fully with pentium D 3.2GHZ?? please help as some of my friends said my procy will bottleneck HD4850 .. i play on 17" lcd at 1280/1024 resolution .. nothing more .. & yeah .. i have 2gb ram 667mhz
you have to chnge processor its not enough for this card then change screen for 19 c today are good promotions o them maybe you will buy 21 but bigger bad small good 17 is tooo small take 19 lcd . other config is good tkae care guy i ttink i helped you
Wrong. The human eye can seen over 60 fps. Compare a game running at 30 fps and a game running at 60 fps side by side, you will notice that the 60 fps has much more crisp motion.
You will also notice that modern day TVs refresh 60+ per second, not 30.
25-30+ FPS while recording in FRAPs. Above 35 FPS without it. Crysis is VERY playable on High DX9 settings with my rig. Very High DX10 is even playable, but not possible when recording.
is it true?

HOW MUCH FPS? you didnt include most important information
Pinnger 2 years ago
@Pinnger 30 - 45 FPS without FRAPs. 20-30 FPS during recording, it looks smooth due to how Crysis implements post-processing and motion blur.

xxpoonednoobxx 3 years ago

metalgear31907 3 years ago
I'm rather envious that you're getting an AMD Phenom 2 now that AMD finally has a decent processor out.
I think you'll be able to play it on my settings without any hitches. You can even try to shift it over to DX10 mode if you want.
AirWing 3 years ago
he he thanks man but i think it might run a little slower on a 22" 1080p monitor you think i should get a 720p instead
metalgear31907 3 years ago

I have build a system say what you think
Specs:
Asus P5Q Deluxe
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Corsair 4GB 1066 MHZ DDR2 Dominator RAM
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4850 (with a better cooler)
Corsair TX650 Watt power supply
vlekkietwinnie 3 years ago
Solid build, dude. I'm getting 30-45 FPS in the game on the said settings. 20-30 FPS when FRAPs is recording. :D
AirWing 3 years ago
I already know what the problem was I have a Asus P5Q Deluxe and my HD 4850 was in the X16 slot. Today I did the HD 4850 in the 2.0 slot and then I am getting performance near to this.
vlekkietwinnie 3 years ago
If you had Intel Wolfdale Dual Core, you would be getting 70 - 90 FPS

I cannot decide between these two cards:
Shapphire ATI Radeon HD4850, 512MB, HDMI, S-VIDEO, CrossFire, GPU @ 625MHz, Clock speed (memory): 1986MHz ( 2 x 993MHz ),RAMDAC: 2x400MHz,
Asus GeForce 9600GT, 1024MB, DDR3, HDMI, GPU @ 650MHz, Clock speed (memory): 1800Mhz (2x 900Mhz), RAMDAC: 400MHz,
I would like to have HD 4850, but my friends has 9600GT, and he says it's great, and it runs nearly every game at max. settings. Little help if anyone has experience of those 2 cards, plz?

HD4850 by far
Next time just google benchmarks
turboflame12 3 years ago
Yea, im going for the 4850, it's much better. Yay, btw i have same cpu than you do.
3t3rnalDamnation 3 years ago
9600gt suck ass compared to the hd 4850 if you want a nvidia card that can compare to the pure awesomeness that is the 4850 get yourself a 9800 GTX+ but honestly it is overpriced the 4850 runs just as good as this card but it is cheaper
hope this helps

I have a Phenom 9600,4Gb RAM,780G MOBO and a HD 4850 it only gets 20-25fps!:S and how the heck I set the Hybrid Crossfire on!? This is my first build so be patient ..PLEASE HELP..
elmitroso 3 years ago
You don't need CrossFire support from your integrated graphics. If anything, it'll make your in-game performance even worse because it's splitting the load between the 4850 and 780G Video Chip. Also consider overclocking the 9600 because Crysis doesn't properly utilize all 4 cores of your CPU so having a higher clock speed will definitely assist in game performance.

Thanks..! but i ve tried to OC my Phenom with some tools (AMD Overdrive) and I cant get a good OC ...Can you tell how to OC my phenom enough to play Crysis..it sounds quiet bad though

@ gaara7809 ..thanks man..actually i utilized my money in changing 8600gts with HD 4850 + i got 650watt corsair PSU(coming tomorrow).now i dont have money for CPU..its 3.2ghz(stock) dual core..can i overclock ? just want to know if i can get high performance with this card on so low resolutions.i dont want to upgrade 17" lcd coz otherwise requirements will increase & it will increase load on proc.. cant i play on high settings with this proc at such low settings?thanks in advance :) take care !
positronic29 3 years ago
When you mentioned that you have 3.2 GHz Dual Core stock, I'm gonna assume that you have the Pentium D. If that's the case, it's gonna bottleneck your card. Not by much, but enough to justify upgrading the processor. You'll still be able to play high settings with 1280 x 1024 resolution. Hope this helps.

thanks a ton dude :) well i will change my processor & then lcd .. right now m playing games at high settings with HD4850 :D but as you said .. it IS bottlenecking my card .. so change is necessary now .. anyways .. thanks to all you out there .. keep gaming :)
positronic29 3 years ago
Shit man, ive got Pentium D 3.20GHz and im getting more ram and the 4850 tomorrow, when you say bottleneck does that mean its not going to look as good? or will it run slower etc
leinadssab 3 years ago
can anyone tell me if i can utilise my HD4850 fully with pentium D 3.2GHZ?? please help as some of my friends said my procy will bottleneck HD4850 .. i play on 17" lcd at 1280/1024 resolution .. nothing more .. & yeah .. i have 2gb ram 667mhz

what's the fps??
homie3626 3 years ago
Does it really matter? anything above 30 FPS is invisible to the naked eye!
xxRukUSxx 3 years ago
yeah, it does matter. it may be invisible to the naked eye, but when playing, you can feel it in the mouse....
homie3626 3 years ago
Wrong. The human eye can seen over 60 fps. Compare a game running at 30 fps and a game running at 60 fps side by side, you will notice that the 60 fps has much more crisp motion.
You will also notice that modern day TVs refresh 60+ per second, not 30.
kaitanuva 3 years ago
25-30+ FPS while recording in FRAPs. Above 35 FPS without it. Crysis is VERY playable on High DX9 settings with my rig. Very High DX10 is even playable, but not possible when recording.
