wow. I spent quite a few nights here in the early 1990's there was a song on the juke box (disguised as Brown Eyed Girl) that Mr. Pat said was too dirty to put the real name on. I don't remember the details, but it did not seem that bad at the time.
Can't tell you what a smile it brought me to see this. Loved that place and those people. I have never ONCE had any concern about how clean a restaurant is after my years of eating there. I wonder what year this was filmed? Seems earlier than 1990 when I was there the most. The mice would have never survived all those cats. The place was also cleaner and Mr. and Ms. Pat younger than I remembered them. My favorite times were the hours spend around 3-4 am just talking with Pat and Lois.
i heard miss pat had a different number of fingers everytime she came to the table. she'd bring you a coke & have 9 fingers. she'd bring your pizza & have 10
WOW! This must have been filmed around the time that I used to go there. This is AWESOME! I even recognized Cort Williams getting buzzed in through the front door.
We always hung out there after Rocky and anytime, really. One night I stepped outside to get my jacket from the car, and a man came at me. Before he could grab me, my keys, or even speak, little "Miss Pat" ran out with a rifle. She cocked it, put it right in his nose and said something about him not getting away with 'molesting our young girls'. Thanks Miss Pat! And thanks Gary. I have so many amazing memories from Pat's... Really miss it.
My Rocky Horror Cast used to come here after the show, along with the Whiteball crowd from Rhodes College (there was some overlap). Some crazy stuff happened here!
I remember when they expanded the back; we missed the booth on the back wall... that was Our Table. But still, more room in which shenenigans could take place.
I try to explain this place to people, and no one gets it. You truly had to be there.
This was shot and produced by Gary Phillips for WKNO. I have a copy that he gave me about 15 years ago. Gary is an accomplished 3-D animator, musician and iconoclast. He now lives on Pickwick Lake in northeast Mississippi. Everybody say, "Thanks Gary."
Glad it's being found by the old Pat's gang... The producer, me, has a cameo as the ghost saxophonist. That's Bill Lineberry as the ghost guitarist. I forget all the cats' names.... This aired on WKNO TV's Local Color program back in the late 80's. Spread the word to whoever might get a kick. Cheers.
Wow!!I can't believe it! Lee Baker and Paul Edelstein, Lisa dattel and little Polly!!! Amazing. I loved Pat's I used to go all the time with Bill Eggleston. Those were the days! Thanks misty714

@mick853 -Hopefully you've been getting all those residual checks in the mail ! Just wish I'd made a full length independent feature around Pat's.

Wow, this takes me back. It was THE late night hangout for Southwestern (now Rhodes) students in the mid-seventies.

The old man would smoke, sit, and adjust his toupee.
It had a yellow stain on the left side.
