@mkarun99 Dude... Every creator has his peak period.. His genius has not gone anywhere its just the generation gap which differentiates him. Music tastes differ with age group and its often the younger group (between 18 and 25 or so) which drives the fashion and trends of a generation. Fahion, music and movie taste changes over time. This would apply even to today's musicians. Above all, his genius is not enigmatic, if that's true we won't be listening to his music today!
@krisgopid agree with your observation about younger generation driving the fashion. its just that i feel raja's genius has got under-recognized throughout the world and even in india for that matter. I am not saying this bcos he did not get an oscar. But it's just that i feel his music was really incomparable a decade ago. there have been few gems in the recent past as well. but it's just that he was in a complete flow a decade and a half ago. want to see that raja again if possible
@krisgopid no krisgopid, what mkarun99 is saying is true, illayaraja's tunes these days are nothing like they were in the 80s and 90s, even if trends have changed his music should still sound the same right? however it has changed for the worse and his frequency of hits is very low, there is no denying that he is a genius but hes def. not on par with his younger self from 15 to 20 years ago!
@uadesi The trend of the film field drives its music. No director would want to make a film like 80's today. They want to make commercially successful films, and want music which appeal to today's youth. During 80's he was at his youth and so, was able to think and match the trend of that period. His music today has become more matured and wise, just like him, hence is not striking the right target. In my personal opinion, he should stop working for movies and do individual albums.
@mkarun99 hav u listened to hey raam nandhalala naan kadavul bro he is always what he is provided the ample circumstances and story to work on .but i too endorse ur view and i wud like him to be selective in his works rather than do some trash films like mathiya chennai thanam etc....
Video quality is fantastic. Kamal is greatest actor in India. His movies contains some info always. People shout have courage to act in these kindly of movies.
