  • Still tryin' to atone for Reagan malfeasance lad?

  • Thanks, Asshole! You paved the way for the race-to-the-bottom with Reagan-omics and your corporate ass-kissing. When Reagan came in we were the world's biggest creditor nation (we were owed the most). When he left, we were the world's biggest debtor nation.

And the Reich Wing puppet masters have convinced the useful idiots that Reagan was some kind of genius/hero. Welcome to Class warfare, and guess which class got handed its ass?

  • @pyannaguy You are an idiot. go back to your OWS bs

  • @edoyle7 Right, I'M the idiot. More foreclosures in the pipeline, gas prices through the roof and they distract everybody with some trumped-up 'threat' from Iran. Keep telling yourself I'M the idiot and keep trusting the banksters and "The FREE Market" to get everything peachy.

  • this guy promoted "reagan-omics". now he's singing a different tune

  • No shortage of people selling books about this totally fucked up situation.

  • UPENN Students: the Middle class jobs have been moved offshore-even the engineering jobs. However, there are service jobs galore: cab driver, waiter/waitress, barber, masseuse, Starbucks barista, MacDonalds and Walmart looking for Ivy League graduates. Take your pick.

  • @MrFaisel34 Thank Obummer

  • @edoyle7 You should thank the Bushwacker.

  • Friends, you think that these companies move the jobs offshore by chance? Think again, the elite class and there brothers the luciferians, wants america to implode, so they can bring in there new world order, and rule the world, so they think. It's all prophesied in the bible, the only hope you have is to repent and turn to Jesus and his Father, and if you don't believe me then you'll find out soon enough, there is no fighting it by electing lairs and fools. You'll see soon. I pray for us all.

  • @HotBombs99 Jesus and God are spiritual matters not social or political. Get it straight buddy. God didn't save the millions of Jews who were gassed and abused in Nazi death camps. Let's be real.

  • This is totally correct, America can not possilbly survive. People better wake up

get rid of their depreciating dollars & immigrate to a more solvent country

  • A True American Roberts knows what's going on

  • Obama, fuckin fire Geithner and hire Paul Craig Roberts!!!

  • this host is so hot

  • @ssfisch01776 i think i fucked her oh no wait that was in my head

  • The protestant ethic is a joke

  • The good thing is I'm Mexican and when the U.S. goes to the shitter, which it will, I'll just go back to my welcoming country while you rednecks get fucked in the butt!

  • @MexicanTuber haha good luck, mexico is already a failed state. and what do you think will happen when the us collapses? every other country is going to collaps as well.

so think first or get fucked in the butt

  • @josefwurst LOL! Actually, Mexico has always been a failed state. So nothing much can change except the rich ones becoming poor. As for me, I'll be milk cows and feed the chickens, and not have to pay a penny on taxes. But if the entire world does collapse, I welcome it.

  • @MexicanTuber hahaha, you're a lucky man. peace

  • Interesting that he says this "has never happened before"

Wasnt that exactly what Adam Smith and Marx were warning would happen unless steps were taken against it?

  • "When productivity jobs and technology are outsourced off shore, the product comes back as an import"

    A brilliant statement!

  • I liked that commerical two years ago that said that $500 Billiion in Oil Wealth leaves the USA every year-the largest transfer of wealth in human history!!!

  • Reagan's people......, right. It's not like their voodoo economy worked so well. Fact of matter is nobody can predict what's gonna happen in the future and this guy's tirad just sounds so much like politically opportunistic junks so often seen nowadays from both left and right that serve nothing more than pandering to the fringe elements of both side of the political spectrum's delusional fantasies. Again, things ain't that simple and history never follows a linear path.

  • When Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich is elected President, Paul Craig Roberts needs to come back and be in the cabinet. :D

  • NEVER EVER TRUST anyone ex-govt or military

  • @selfishmajority

Read his book you shit head.

  • Hey Mr Roberts, if you've always known governments, big banks and big corporations are totally corrupt then why did you take up a highly paid position in the Reagan administration?

  • A brave and courageous man. Not many of us have his courage.

  • wow, is pcr ill? he doesn't look good.

i don't agree with all of his stances, but he's excellent on econ.

  • Tax the rich and give it to the poor. At the same time forbid globalisation. A working solution is so easy to find. But it's all about making the rich richer or at least preserving there wealth. This will not work.

Even Henry Ford knew 100 years ago:

Cars do not buy cars. People buy cars.

    And therefore they need money.

  • developed countries get to a stage where the populous feel its their right to rape the private sector of their wealth via s/security health, benefits etc, the private sector then pulls up their pants shows them where the can shove it and rapes them back via going abroad with their jobs and wealth, thats the story here folks..

  • There is no reason in this world for any one person to have more than 100 million in assets at the most, anybody could still live like a king with that. I mean is anybody that important that they need a private island,14 houses, private jets, fleets of cars.

  • No worries, Obama will fix the economy!

  • Yeah by taking us to war with Iran.

  • So much for Obama and being a man of peace, eh? I laughed my ass off when I saw an Obama bumper sticker with the O being the peace symbol. It was on some numbnut college student's car in Boulder. He's probably torn it off by now if he's smart at all.

  • In 2000, Paul Craig Roberts predicted exactly what is happening today.

He wrote an article with Schumer, of all people, about how outsourcing will destroy the value of American labor.

Americans cannot compete with slave labor, undervalued currencies, under regulated and over subsidized economies. Our inventions and productivity are being sent abroad. This only benefits the rich.

  • RT is like the "new and improved" version of Radio Moscow, the old Soviet propaganda mouth piece.

For a program entitled RT, or "Russia Today," it devotes most of its coverage on stories about the United States, all of them being negative--a coincidence I'm sure.

When is RT going to start covering Russia, particularly its march toward fascism under the autocratic hand of Vladimir Putin?

  • Damn anti-constitutionalists! Free people run away from anti-free-market policies. To bad the unborn could not vote.

  • I wonder are we full of hot air or are we going to do something about?

If we dont like whats going on in our country we need to do something about it.

We have a voice and we need to use it.

    Vote them out in 2012.

If we sit, complain and do nothing in the end, what are we, a bunch of wind bags?

At that point, look in the mirror, for what you see is the problem and not the solution.

One person can make a difference and every person should try.( J.F.K)

  • @timefordifference - I agree with everything you said except "Vote them out in 2012." your candidates, your choices are given to you by your corporations. Voting won't solve your problem, a system overhaul is required.

  • Haha..."you can't regulate the banks because the banks own the government"... so true.

The empire is going down, that's for sure.

    5*

  • I think your right. Strauss/Howe's Fourth Turning may have arrived.

  • "Ole" Paul should know what he's talking about, he was one of the original Reaganites, handing out the poisoned koolaid. He too worshiped at the altar of (regulation free) "free" market economics. He winked as Reagan destroyed unions, along with solid middle class jobs for workers in the U.S..

  • Yes Mr Roberts it won't be too long,

America on the Ash heap of history.

    And good riddance to them.

  • Off-shoring of jobs is a symptom, not the cause.

Free trade actually creates MORE jobs on both sides of borders, even if it does increase dislocation in the short run. Look up Ricardo's Theory of Comparative Advantage.

The real cause of job losses is excessive taxation and govt regulation.

  • Read it in high school.

Where I generally fall in your economic camp, and champion Ron Paul and Austrian economics. In reality it still is not going to save this country's economic system. Simply because our economic system depends on infinite exponential growth which is an absolute impossibility with limited resources, especially dwindling resources with peak production restraints.

Don't forget our entire infrastructure depends on cheap oil, and our currency on petrodollar recycling.

  • I'm a big Ron Paul fan as well.

But you are wrong that our system "depends" on exponential growth and cheap oil.

Exponential growth is a RESULT of economic freedom, not a fundamental requirement. And that growth started before we even used oil. Peak oil is coming, but oil will be replaced by some new technology.

Our currency is toast because it is fiat-based, but to the extent that there is some Austrian in our economics, humanity will get better-off over time.

  • I agree with your conclusion.

I also agree with your assessment on growth to a certain degree, and we are pretty much in near opposition on the energy crisis. We shall see.

We are dependent on exponential growth because of our government entitlement programs and expansion of our empire. For example in order to pay for the baby boomers retirement and healthcare, we need to grow and grow and grow in order to meet those obligations.

But yes, I think guys like you, Peter Schiff etc. are great.

  • READ THE NEWS WRITTEN AT THE BOTTOM MOVING LEFT FROM 0:39 TO 0:53.

    OPEN YOUR EYES

    and open your mind.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP

    and close your ugly mouth

  • Here's an absolutely insane idea.

But it would be the measure of how dedicated the American people are to taking back control of their nations economy.

If everyone really wants to control inflation....

REALLY want to take control of inflation....

    Burn your tax refund cash.

  • @TPT

don't agree with burning it... but, another insane idea: if you instead use it to burn off yours or others' structural debt (aka other family members, close friends, etc.), then you eliminate the $ money from the tax refund you have AND debt $ of others.

& thx to fractional reserve banking, by burning off debt and not re-spending or using more credit, there's a multiplier effect as well.

now THERE's burning BANG for ur buck! :)

  • What you been smoking?

  • Money.

  • give me yours, i'll burn it for you.

  • Only if you join the club. See the catch there?

  • read my handle, what do you think my profession is?

  • Porno, for having a 30-year woodie?

  • sorry, only peasants are in that kind of job.

    are you a peasant?

  • Why?

  • Only 3% of US currency is in the form of cash. Also you can have a devaluing of the dollar even with a decrease in the amount of currency, prices would therefor still inflate. So burning your tax refund cash will do absolutely positively nothing besides reduce economic activity by a relatively small amount.

  • Told you it was insane.

It would be more symbolic than anything else, for sure, but this is exactly what people worldwide aren't seeing....the American people themselves gettting personally involved in affecting the economy in a way NOT directed by our gov't. Is it illegal to do? Sure it is, but so is protesting apparently, so if your gonna be arrested anyway....

  • blame every president. blame most elected officials. listen to paul craig roberts he is spot on with the economic situation. wake up people. america is going to hell in a handbasket if we dont get our shit together NOW

  • the Us could cut back its military and legalese recreational drugs,,, stop trying to dominate the world by zionest idea log of fear ,

Hollywood could have done the same thing with a dance and a smile ,,, along with the ethos of even handed diplomacy but no zionst idea log of lies and terror is more to the liking of persons like gates clinton and bush and now the "yes we can man " obasrma

  • roberts ALSO says how isreal was behind 9/11....he hates neo cons too....ha ha....and he was in reagan's cabinet - so he no slouch....plus he answered a few of my emails which is cool :" )

  • time for change is here

  • Oh and thank god for RT and I dont even believe.

  • huskerbird1 - I totally agree. I lived through the Cold War, and consider it a personal irony that now I consider Russia Today one of my more important sources of news.

  • Green Jobs are coming . I mean "Greengo Jobs". American slave labor will be selling Hot dogs and Apple pie in China. Yes, Americans very dumb, but they make good hot dog. Hahaha

  • A lot of what he says is accurate. But blaming outsourcing is not. Many jobs in the US are overpaid for, and this is bolstered by unions. For a society to actually be capitalists, you can get raises but you can also have your wage go down.

To think that some others can work harder, be more efficient, take business from you and your wages still go up is ludicrous.

Normally there's little raises and falls. Now with all the propping up it's going to be a large fall from a shaky tower.

  • Outsourcing is totally the problem buddy, are you on crack? Our steel mills are gone, but you say send it to china where they can make it cheaper? Your on drugs, or your a govn shill. I suppose that putting all business in the Cayman Islands is just for the sun tan? We have been plundered and your still drinkin koolaid. Unions are thee only representative that the workin stiff has. unless you can think of someone else. I'm all ears.

  • So if China does super well and the average salary in China becomes twice that of the US, they get lazier, you rebuild steel plants and work harder for less. Your product is twice as good as theirs at half the price it wouldn't be fair for people in China to buy from the US?

So that's fair, but having it the other way around isn't fair?

To have success you have to have the risk of failure. When people consistently do well they start to relax and others' diligence can take over.

  • we didnt get lazy you fool, we still have the most productivity of any country, you see its not hard work, just look at the investors, they might get carpel tunnel putting in their bids. your way off and yo didnt answer any of my questionns, you remond me of my ex. Iron ore mined here, sent to china, refined, sent back, and they can still process it cheaper, nope, but the oligarchs thatsold you out hope you believe it. none of your arguement holds water.

  • Maybe you didn't get lazy, but others are still able to work harder and cheaper than you are able to or willing to. This is how America became rich in the first place.

And your questions that I didn't answer were, are you on crack, drugs, drinking kool-aid or a government shill. No to all of the above. I hate Bush and the wars too if that helps.

Really, do you have to insult people you are talking to?

  • Remember the American Revolution? We revolted against sending England our raw products to England where they produced finished products to sell back to US at higher prices. We wanted to industrialize and produce them ourselves. Why did we give that advantage away?

  • @tjfgermany58123 America was dumb enough to outsource the jobs, foreigners didn't forcibly take them. Politicians & policymakers on both sides of the aisle bought into that rotten bill of goods known as free trade (NAFTA, CAFTA, etc.) pushed so hard by the Clinton administration. Who's laughing at Ross Perot's warning now?

  • We were not dumb, we never had a say, and it wasnt clinton look at nixon buddy, I turned over a doll at an auction a while back, It was a Barbie doll, and on the back of the neck....... made in china 1972

  • media whores sold us out. to blalme it on clinton just shows your ignorance

  • it wasn't the clinton administration who sold us out. it was the massively undertaxed corporations running your country's politician puppets.

  • uhhh, clinton signed nafta into law. end of argument.

  • @DIVERSITYRECESSION3

Oh, come on. You are not naive to truly believe that resource-based aconomy is achievable in current economic reality with tacit western consent

  • No jobs equal no economy. No economy equals no country.

  • maybe you should tell barry sortoro aka (barack Obama) we can change this whole way of doing things free energy (no oil) no utilitiy bill ciyt, towns, planting their own gardens.stop wasting money on crap from fda bigpharma give us real drs like homopathy herbalogists naturalpaths these areyour drs.cars that run on salt water come on lets make the shift these huge com.must go byebye or we will never get things better

  • wall street greed is caused by washington dc. if interest rates are too low it makes it "cheap" to speculate. washington encourages risk taking. its washington that needs to get some balls and raise interest rates.

this guy doesn't talk about how washington dc has made it so expensive to employ people in this country. we could be competitive if washington would get out of the way. that would be a really stimulus.

  • The beginnings of this news cast is crap! As if her cynical bitchood gives her the right to call us greedy. As if thy never knew what poverty is. Some eat partially rotten oranges but if they didn't have to they would throw it at this media and the government that permits it's bs! News media spews to train the simple viewers minds to accuse. When they look for a scapegoat. The federal government was taken over. They were used to take down the industries through lawsuits. dumb clucks.

  • Excellent interview, Thanks, RT!

  • When the Entitlement class becomes a part of the 60 trillion dollar unfunded liabilities, they are going to go ape. For 50 years they have been used to being threated like animals, jailing them, feeding them, rewarding their procreation, keeping them healthy, everything but training them to act human. When the US is forced to stops supporting them they are going to expect to get their bananas from the rest of us. Will we have the will to stop them?

The US is done, NWO here we come.

  • Who is the entitlement class? The media moguls? Human puppets that are used as controlled ventiloquist's pieces? Who does the US support? People who are convinced that they are something so that they can be used as puppet pieces in a communication realm?Yeah, I bet the usa supports them right into espionage slavery and human pin cushions! We don't get microwave licenses to burn people with. Know what it is to zero in on an area with microwave doppler and cause a little pain?Learn before u spew!

  • the problem is the progressive tax system, with its loopholes and inherant corruption. Flat tax systems don't foster the kind of foolishness progressive tax systems do.

  • There is nothing our current bunch of crooks will do to stop this

  • G.W. Bush to be clear.........

  • Amerikkka will not last long, bailouts can't help the econmy for that long

  • Wrong, US growth was from bailouts and high interest rates, so nothing really improved. Americunts are so stupid.

  • US is crumblin faster than EU dude, EU right now is doing much better

  • Umm most of the EU economies are collapsing (greece, spain, portugal, italy, iceland) to name a few. Do you watch the news?

Again, you keep saying HIGH interest rates and bail outs caused US growth, but interest rates in the US are low right now so wtf are you talking about? Also, China, EU, Russia all used bailouts and stimulus money as well, why aren't you saying this about them? percentage wise, Russia had the biggest bailout and our bailout money has been repaid with interest.

  • Imperial,,the U.S. has a 50 to 70 trillion dollar fiscal gap,,,gdp numbers are flawed, besides media has no credibility. This clown as you say speaks a truth you find offensive.Peace

  • First off, it's nowhere near 70 trillion, and the "gap" you're talking about is social security and medicaid money that will come due down the road. The point is that is INTERNAL obligations that can easily be fixed via restructuring the system or increased workers/productive (thus why we let in more immigrants). The national debt (money via bonds to other nations) is only 12 trillion. This can be paid.

Anyway, he IS a clown. He was a treasurer under Reagan. Reagan's policies sucked.

  • We will see,,,for now the U.S. persues mid-east resources,,with the CIA and its Nato army, with no oversight.Bush W was your worst or sucked as you put it.Peace

  • Wrong, you government is lieing to you dude, us government do no have any growth and bailouts and high interest rates are not gonna last long, europe got other each other to help.

  • unemployment rate is really over 20% obama right now is hiding the truth from ppl and say its only 10%

  • Pakistaniis...This is true 20%,,,however obama could be the first genuine american leader for quite some time ,,lets be patient and see,,,Peace

  • Oh great economist, show us your data for how the US unemployment rate is really 20%? Don't send a link to some site, tell us what DATA you collected to prove it?

And if the US uses shady reporting numbers, then once again, so do other nations, so what is the unemployment rate REALLY in your nation? Talk about what. Why are you so concerned with the US?

By the way, the unemployment rate dropped to 9.7% and that is much lower than 99% of the worlds nations.

  • ha ha ha. Let's see YOUR workings sonny.

  • europe and america are creating a new world order.

  • Yes, and what are we going to do about it?

  • EU doesn't want to get too rich too quickly, they wanna take it slow and safe. america don't know how to play it save dude.

  • Impeach Obamanation spending bring home our troops stop the lying to American people and promoting Islamic

    ways Wake up America

  • Obama is promoting jewish ways to ppl

  • you can take your pick

  • I can't recap the events of the last century in one abridged comment, AO, and your interpretation of the current malaise is so far away from mine, and so close to the amnesiac media-spun reality, that it would be futile to even try. I probably shouldn't have fallen for pious temptation and responded to your comment in the first place. I apologise for wasting your time.

  • @AugustusOctavianus

You really have drunk the kool aid. This is a planned destruction.

  • Cui bono?

the self chosen bastards that are about to succeed in their Protocols of the Elders of Zion plan

  • Roberts should know he was part of Raygunomics & the beginning of offshoring our manufacturing base and sticking the US with StarWars deficits

Roberts was part of the deathBlow to the US steel industry by not limiting offshore steel dumping into our country..

I guess he'll have to invest in China like all oligarchs who have no allegiance to our people! Keep smiling BennedickRoberts!

  • It's too bad the gentiles don't have a memory. The Jews do and they work together. = they win

  • we are screwed....welcome my freind to the machine........

  • Thank God most of us don't live in the US

  • @cybersphere

    Thank God?

    What a schmuck.

  • 2:21 "The Banks own the Government " So you people in the US are going to have to dismiss your government in order to get rid of the federal reserve, and all the other Banksters. Then when you investigate the federal reserve etc to see where all the money went and lock up the thieves, you will be able to create a new currency. Flush your excrement down the toilet so to speak.

  • Once upon a time...

American made stuff, sold stuff, paid low taxes...

Then, with the reserve currency status, outsourcing and trade deficits created a greater demand for US Treasuries. That lowered the credit cost to the US and expedited its expansion.

To subsidize and pacify the working, and non-working, poor, cheap credit and welfare programs were made available.

And billionaires everywhere lived happily ever after...

  • It's like duh. What are they stimulating. At least George W. was smart enough to know we have a consumer based economy, and promoted a stimulus direct a retail consumption. We have no productive capacity it's gone. Green Jobs are too expensive 2 people unemployed for every one employed? Even if the next transformtive invention we're to hit the market, other countries now have the capacity to develop it with the cheaper labor. America is totally screw at this point. It's suicide!
