America had some beautiful passenger trains in those days. I'm glad we, at least, have Amtrak but it likely will never have the frequency of service and elegance of the classic streamliners.
Wow I go to Deshler to watch trains. Alot has changed since then. The depot is still there just with a big hole in the side of it thanks to a coal train.
I regret having been born to late to ride some of the great trains that served Detroit. I was just 10 when the Wabash Canonball and Cincinnatian made their lasts runs. Too young to travel independently at that time.
