  • I love you. no matter what race. Those were the years

  • @surferrandys why would YOU bring up race??? we never did back then where I lived..maybe that makes you the racist!!

  • One of the sexiest sounding slow dance songs ever made

  • @OldiebutGoodieGal yeah shined many a belt buckle to this song at the weekend dances. god i miss those dances. waltzes, jive, cha cha, chalypso, stroll. i guess i'm showing my age. those were great times.

  • This song has been bouncing around in my head all day, so here I am. This is an absolute masterpiece. Very fine arrangement.

  • My brother rehearsed the group in our dinning room in Roxbury before they recorded it. I've heard it probably 100 times sitting in the next room. Still sounds great.

  • AN ALL TIME FAV B-DAY TUNE!

  • I had the honoring of knowing Margo, for a time she managed our band Extasy. We lived about 2 houses down from her. But i got to know her on a personal basis. She was warmhearted and smarter than most. she never got the fame she deserved. I have a great picture of her when I and my baby Tyler had to be in San Francisco for a wedding and she lets us stay with her. It was the last time I saw her

  • @nancinano So show the picture.

  • Ahh. The precious memories. One of the best tunes of the '50's and shall forever live on. Glad to have been a part of it.

  • Happy,Happy Birthday Baby - Menowin - we miss you so much !

  • awww memories.

  • To 7252. I appreciate your comments. As a white girl coming of age in the South in the 50's and discovering WLAC out of Nashville, and having a serious run-in with the Klan. I learned one day in 1959 what it might be like to be black in the "Genteel" South. This music changed my life and the lives of quite a number of other white people in the 50's in the South. However, no way we could actually be inside their head and know how it felt to be them.

  • i might be young but damn this song is one of my oldie favs!!

  • In 1958, I gave a 45 record of this song to my high school boy friend who was fickle and broke my heart. He never knew what he had. Since that time, over 50 years ago, I have often thought of the song and him. Still poignant, but so glad I moved on with my life. The sweetness of your first love never dies....

  • i misss u grandmaa and i love you

  • HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHY!!!

  • thank you Glenn....just a kid when that came out....luv it

  • My Dad was the recording engineer for this record.

  • capolavoro!

  • Yea, American bandstand. This is the unforgettable version.

  • I just sent this song to a very very old friend of mine...I always loved this song and I hope he likes it as well...it's his birthday today...

  • I am a baby boomer born in 52, and it bothers me that a few young people compare their times to ours, and are critical. This is your time your memories, and those are our memories and times. As a blackman I can tell you that in those days my race was more united then they are today. We had to live together in one area of the city, and we had to depemd on each other. I suggest that you go to the library and look up what life was like back then. It is like time traveling.

  • @7252christian You complain???? you were 5 yrs old when that song came out!! give me a break WOMAN...I was born in 1942..which made me 15 yrs old....the age to appreciate that song unlike YOU!! ..who was still wetting the bed!!!!

  • @taffeydog24 YOU are the one who are trying to steal OUR music time!!!

  • WOW...brings me back to 7th grade in '57. Turned on our new blonde TV set and

there in crisp black and white was Carole Scaldeferri...dancing to this great song

    on American Bandstand.

  • @2KRW also think back on this song and American Bandstand with such fond memories. I was in 8th grade at the time. My, where did the time go. Sigh!!!!

  • What a voice!`

  • So nice! Thank you!
