@TheJohn7528 No they're not. They are crap weapons compared to other armies' rifles. Famas/M4/AUG/diemaco c8 are all superior, and most importantly LIGHTER.

SA80 is the most accurate when you zero them properly, not only that but because of its bullpup grip (and a much nicer one than the others in the list with them) its also the best to hold and use, not the lightest no, but much better.

I have also used C8/M4 quite a bit and had the pleasure of being able to use the AUG and AK on ranges once in Iraq. So I would think I know what I'm talking about. What's your experience again?

@TheJohn7528 No fella, you don't use the c8. I think if you do a bit of research you will see that there are some units that do. VIP CP teams also use C8s and 229s. Telic 7, 9 and 11, herrick 11/12 What base? OSB on 7 Al amara 9 and airport 11.

nice review, this gun is brillitant but i found that the foregrip on the gun is a bit cheap but easily replaceable with nylon fibre fore grip (handguard) also hope to play with you oneday i skirmish at xsite airsoft and am hoping to play at POW or Section 8 airsoft

an l85 is a smaller version of the sa80 with less kick back as is not used in service on for training of cadets

@jcattrall no, the L85 is the current service rifle of the British armed forces. You're thinking of the L98A2, which is the training rifle issued to cadets, and is restricted to semi auto. The SA80 (Small Arms for the '80s) is a family of select fire, gas operated, 5.56mm firearms, that includes the L85, L86, L22 and L98 variants.

@CoalMcBlade you can't fire sa80's left handed, but you can easily train your eyes to shoot right handed, unless you want the cocking handle to hit you in the teeth everytime you fire it that is. but i've only ever used a real one so i could be wrong

There are fewer and fewer of the AA versions each week because of problems in China. G&G and ARES also make a L85 which is highly rated. Airsoftworld where i got mine now only have the G&G version

@teddybear1111111 Airsoft is like paintball, however airsoft guns fire plastic BB projectiles rather than balls of paint. Airsoft tends to be slightly cheaper than paintball, and if you are looking for realism airsoft wins by just a little. Overall, it is a fun sport to play, but definately will say it is not cheap.
