Nice tool, but pretty useless half the grid does not even have the ability to see windlight. Plus opensims? Ill move there when its stable and less boring..so far its in kiddy shoes.
@Secondlifecreator Your argument about the grid not being able to see Windlight is incorrect. LightShare is one of the first technologies that allows Windlight to be shared with visitors that use a specific Viewer. Some viewers have ported their version into its code to enable it in SL aswell.
And yes, OSGrid is boring but so is SL these days. Just sayin.
Sorry bro your dead on wrong, winlight is really connected to the graphical capabilities of your computer. MOST comps these days can run it. But sadly most slers are CASUAL sler's the have no idea of the FACT that the viewers set to a RECOMMENDED setting that fits the pc/laptop/
Thus rendering not the the full potential of sl there more then you think lol.
Take it from a veteran in sculpting, scripts, prim, textures (over 4 years online) ...
@Secondlifecreator PC Specs is not even an argument here. Windlight's been there for ages. Just cuz you have a shitty computer, doesnt mean everyone does. And i am not a noob either, been on SL since 2007, been involved in OS development, in fact LightShare is a side development by the company i worked for, so dun gimme the "veteran talk". The target market of SL and OS based virtual worlds have changed since technology has become less of an important factor....
@Secondlifecreator .. SL has become a community of veterans anyway. There have hardly been any technological development and LL has been prioritizing Community related developments because that's what the current target market is prioritizing aswell. LightShare was one of the very few technological improvements, that was supposed to bring back SL and OS based platform's technological aspect and therefore deserves to be appreciated and not swept under the carpet!
Ok let me put it this way mr lousy developer, before you start i can run sl in full detail. Sad but true most DO NOT SEE WINDLIGHT, windlight was there indeed in the debug but you seem to forget with that ignorant face of yours. That clients PRESET to a PREFORMANCE automaticly most do not even tweak the settings after that because the " lag" out.
And windlight is GPU related genious...check a wiki for a chance instead of being a protecive wisecrack over your own ability.
to funny too that you make technology is a less important factor? NO WONDER OS REMAINS A INSTABLE PLATFORM! It is because of incompotent coders (yes sir like yourself) that think the know there game. Are in fact failing in a epic way. Whenever you see fit feel free to reply. Not that i will react no more to a brainiac with a nose for snobism.
And way to go on your approach towards technology..
@Secondlifecreator i am not a "coder" as u said, i am in corporate development. And btw, you are obviously misunderstanding me. So let it be, dude. In terms of SL's technological development, (whatever you mean with "to funny too that you make technology is a less important factor": I didnt say how it SHOULD be, i told u how it is. I am not going to repeat it so u'll just have to read it again. The fact that ppl do not "see Windlight" for the reasons u stated, really just confirms my "theories"
A troll scuse me? You crankout arguments that hold no valid word against what i said. Whos the troll again? what you said is plain simple that you ASSUME 80% see windlight as it suppose to be. What i simply pointed out its NOT the case. How many STUDENTS I GET that cannot see even GLOW let alone a decent windight pre-set is countless. My problem is that complete quacks talks like telemarketer without any common sense of how it actually works besides you " theories" thats all.
I worked it out! to source this cool Lightshare controller, follow the instructions on how to upload an Inventory Archive (.iar) file to your OpenSim (v0.7.+) on the Opensim wiki. The .iar was kindly shared by tx Oh (linked in the OP's comments). Launch the Imprudence viewer & enjoy the ambiance! Thanks tx
Hey txOh (maybe the same I knew in Discordia, if not, nvm). I'm toying with LightShare on my OpenSim sandbox and have been toying with a script to adjust settings but i see yours is fantastically advanced. is it possible to get a hold of that script/build?
