  • RIP Squaresoft

  • I Fuckin play this when i feel shity or for just the fact THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY GAMES THAT SQUARE MADE THAT HAS A PERFECT OST TO LISTEN TO AND BUY AND A GREAT FUCKING GAME TO PLAY

  • if you stay at where Elazul and Pearl are for a bit you hear a sparkle! I don't know why though...

  • i have never played legend of mana, but i sure as hell have at least contributed about 50-100 views to this in the last few days.

  • @SH4DOWSL4Y3R69 play it via emulator, it's a fun game!

  • @rpgsplayer i would, but i'm already neglecting to finish a rather hefty amount of games off on steam, i doubt that it would help for me to start playing another.

that said, if i manage to whittle down the amount of games on my to play list, i'll definitely give it a go.

  • we should write a mass number of letters or emails to square wanting some HD Remakes of games like Legend of Mana, Chrono Trigger/Cross, PE, and Xenogears whos is with me on this idea

  • I really want to play this game again. While the Dragon Plot was my favorite, the Jumi Plot is also a favorite. I cried during the Jumi Plot.

  • The "Teardrop Crystal" quest made me cry the first time I finished it. I miss Elazul and Pearl.

  • @KeiHime013 I was about 14 when i played it through the first time, im a dude, and honestly i cried too =(. This game was amazing

  • man, its nice to hear this song again.

  • God I miss this game.. the best game of its generation. I remember going to the bejeweled city just to stand at the entrance and let this song play and repeat itself without the need of a replay button. Why oh why can't games be made this good anymore.. oh.. right.. everyone wants blood and gore now. :l

  • @Berle1171 I know what you mean, bro. That was, and still is, my favorite game. Even if never beat it, I got more memories with that game then anything else.

  • So much like for this song. I can't get enough of this game or it's Music. It's another brilliantly woven soundtrack that made the game truly enjoyable. I wish there was more to the game after The Bejeweled City and The Mana Tree.

  • For some reason also, this song makes me want to cry, thanks so much PeyserConley!

  • This was/is the most incredible game I have ever played! Played it so many times, the story is great, the game play isn't linear, and it doesn't in 2 hours. The number one game in my book and the number game for the rest of existence. 3 thumbs up, both of mine and the thumb of the guy who disliked.

  • Tears are coming from the bottom of my soul (PeyserConley Thanks for upload those soundtracks we really apreciate it).

  • I wish Home location to be colored just like in the final cutscene of this quest, meeh...

  • Gosh, I was addicted to this when I was in Elementary, now I'm a college graduate about to take up Medicine next year, I always loved Elazul to be on my side with this one, time really flies so fast

  • Damn this song is so Peacefull i love it

  • Every time I would hear this music it would make me tear up and sniffle. It's so beautiful, and the story of the jumi is so heart wrenching. TT_TT I love this game beyond any recognition.

  • I <3 Pearl/Lady Blackpearl.

  • @rayjinflo

    I love them all. :)

  • Man my Emulator always has trouble with this game. It's one of my all time favorites too, right up there with Chrono Trigger, FF7, Star Ocean 2, and Saga Frontier, Romancing Saga TMS, ahhh nostalgia... They don't make games like those any more do they?

  • @Laughingblades I have problems in emulators too, it's slow. But I manage to make it fast by checking the skip frame box at pete's 1.7 plugin and resizing the emulator screen below 500

  • @Laughingblades Unfortunately. It's a great loss to the gaming world that games like these are no longer made.

  • @Kenuda Wada... This music almost sounds like a Requiem for Squaresoft and the great games they used to make before every thing became flashy pop culture crap with no replay value.

  • @Laughingblades i feel you brother try the ar tonelico series they have substance instead of looks

  • @Laughingblades No, unfortunately they do not but they are re-releasing some of them for the PSP at least...it's not as good as a full on remake for the next gen consoles but it's not bad. I wouldn't mind seeing Saga Frontier and Legend of Mana ported to the PSP in the future, I may have the original discs still but they're getting kinda old and worn from all the times I've played them lol.

  • @ArykvonStraln It's a sad day when the only way to play such brilliant games without pirating them is to go out and buy a hand held gaming device.

  • I would cry for the Jumi...

  • @dualblade14 Never shed tears for a Jumi!! You know what will happen to you...

  • Beautiful, sad...Reminds me of those jewel people, the ones that were healed by the Hero's tear.

  • @LordSolaris I do believe that's the city this song is from, prior to beating the Jumi arc at least. Been quite a while since I've played so I'm not certain

  • @LordSolaris It's the theme of their ruined city. ^_^

  • This song makes me feel sad.

  • This, for some reason, reminds me of nothingness and lonliness!

  • So beautiful and so sad, especially with the addition of the strings

  • What's with all the people shit-talking this game? It's the best. I guess learning and exploring is too hard.

@GeneralJewel: this song comes into play when you get to the Jumi city, after a long chain of quests. It's probably more heroic than the main storyline of the game.

  • @ifm2181 People talk shit about it do to the lack of a main story line and game play not being the greatest. It's not a game everyone can enjoy. I personally love the game for it's music and graphics, as well as making weapons. The way they did the story reminded me of Majora's mask in a way. It's more about the side quests than the actually story.

  • Still remember that Elazul was my most favorite Jumi when I first played this as a kid.

    @ifm2181

    What main storyline? xD

  • @Omegamegamanzx the main history of the game was about the reconstruction of the world by gathering the artifacts

  • 名曲

  • Ill just remember this music and try to forget the game. Wonder were it comes in the game..

  • @GeneralJewel You sir.. can't enjoy Legend of Mana for what it was. It was different, a breath of fresh air, a game you could play for hours and hours on end. It is a missed gem, for those who can enjoy it, it's unfortunate that not everybody can because it truly is a work of art.

  • i even sleep on the table only for listening this music.

  • Such a beautiful song, I hope to learn it on the piano by ear soon.

  • esta musica e a mais maravilhosa entre todas as belas ost deste jogo, isso e um promor classico que sem sombras de duvidas nunca saira da minha memoria

  • やっぱこの曲いいな!

  • This is my absolute favorite song of LoM. So sweet, yet so sad. It makes you want to smile and cry at the exact same time. I would spend hours in the Bejeweled City just listening to this song.

  • @Stefisgarden Same here. I'd blow through the Jumi storyline just to get the Bejeweled City so I could just stand there and listen to the music while I did other things, like write.

  • i like the concept of this game. really the happiness shared with the sadness. they showed it really well.

  • Huh...Seems Sandra thumbed down this song.

  • @Waffersforever Ha yeah id be- Hey whered this note come from?

  • This is my most favorite of the game's ost....so beautiful yet sad... the fate of the Jumies..*

  • My family of course doesn't understand why I like music from games so much but if they listened to this maybe they would. I don't know though, their pretty heartless... at least, that's how it seems.

  • @AkumaUchitoru I had the exact same reaction from my friends when I was in college. They would always tell me to listen to rap music or hip hop. But I loved game music the best. Still do.

  • Hey, what does a Jumi say when he sees his people after a long time?

    "Jumis me?" Get it?

    Ju-miss me?

    Wait, what's the matter?

    You can't take the "pun"ishment?

    -L'il Cactus

  • @DragonslayerII

    yeah..the lil cactus's dairies xD

    funny little guy^^

  • @XRinoaBCX Yeah, even during all the dramatic story events going on, reading some of those entries really made me smile xD

  • ughhh i love legend of mana!!!

  • 悲しい音色ですね・・・。

    煌き都市の音楽ですね。

  • The story of the Jumi truly did make me cry while I was playing the game...

Shedding a tear literally cut their life short...

Most tragic race in the game.

  • @Jadensamma I felt the same way when i was playing this game. It was more than 6 years ago, but even now, in brutal and harsh adult life, I miss it. Every time i hear this song, my soul cries. It means soo much for me.. Very beautiful song.

  • The Jumi quests were the absolute best in this game IMO. The most beautiful thing ...( SPOILER) Was once you finished the quests if you went back to the jeweled city they were all there! And you go to see what happened to Alexandra and everyone! I was so happy Pearl stayed Pearl and not Lady Blackpearl too! ^.^ Best game ever!

  • @narthic Actually on certain days, Pearl will be turned into Black Pearl

  • @atrea

    Truely!? That's so neat!

  • The Jewel tribe.. where removing the jewel from their chests results in them turning to stone..

  • Beautiful

  • its one of my favorites too, it fits the jumi very well. A jewel music :)

  • It should make you sad if you played the game and remember the story......

  • This song just makes you cry when you listen to it. Now I need a tissue. I love this song just because it makes you remember sad times.

  • doesn't anyone think its wierd how Halo 2 and Legend of Mana have the same music under the same name and if yall dont believe it then search for halo 2 City of Flickering Destruction they both sound the same

  • @xXxholydemonxXx I know, I have been Whining for the past 3 years about it. not like the internet cares. How the heck can Bungie get away with that? I've never heard of Bungie and Square working together ever so how did they get away with this? unless Mark O'donnel is friends with Yoko Shimmomura

  • @GigIsVigilance thanks for acknowledging my comment im a halo fan but i still think that they should've been sued unless all of this hav being a big misunderstanding or something

  • Beautiful ♥

  • You can already get this for ps3/ psp, and any other console, including wii/360. You just need to open the system up and import the rom!

<3 Best song in the game, and I absolutely love the Jumi... Elazule was amazing, and the character concepts where so original!

I'm a huge fan of the knight/guardian ordeal and the jewel of tears =]

  • I think it was the feeling of futile effort and frustration that impacted us the most at this point. We had fought to try and stop the Jewel Thief, but in the end, only realizing it was too late....

  • They should port it to PSP like many other PS1 games

  • muito linda essa musica

depois de mais de 10 anos eu consegui terminar o legend of mana e sinceramente essa foi o tema mais bonito do jogo

    realmente me deixou emocionado!!!!

  • I don't know why but after we played this song full volume in my friends house, the haunting in their house stopped suddenly....

  • One Word: Beautiful

  • agree!!!

    this songs is so beautiful...

it's full of all emotion mostly

  • Yoko Shimomura outdid herself with her score for Legend of Mana. The music for that game was a collective masterpiece.

    So beautiful.

  • In my vero own opinion, Yoko Shimomura is one of the best video game composer ever! Sadly, younger childrens won't play Legend of Mana now :(

  • unless they port it to the PSN, but even then they wont play it cuz kids these days are hooked on the graphics instead of storyline/gameplay...

  • I love this song, but damn, this is probably the most depressing piece of music I've ever heard.

  • Such a beautiful song ;___;

I loved this game, listen to this song brings back good memories

the Jumi arc was my favorite

    I loved Elazul so much~

    Is such an awesome game

Too bad that my game broke so much time ago D:

  • You can buy another copy of the game on Amazon! A new disc is expensive, but a used one sells for about 50 bucks.

  • Preety easty, I learned it on 2 days ^_^ Its good for learning by ear. Also a beautiful melody.

  • I think this song best represents the Jumi's power to heal with tears, the sadness of them dying out, and the sadness of turning into stone if you cry for them...

  • Check out the orchestral version Yoko Shimomura did for her album "drammatica"

    /watch?v=wnzJBVg5uwQ

  • i can play this on the piano :o i did by ear :D want em to teach anyone/?? ^^"

  • ME PLEASE PLEASE i have the sheet music and i'm bad at reading ledger lines so I can't get half of it could u like put up a tutorial o sumthin

  • lol well i played this by ear and its a pretty long song :O but i'll tell u the first not.. F

  • ok i think i'll be good then cuz i was just like wat the world is that gracias!

  • lol all the sad songs are in piano :) it makes sense.. the piano and the violin is so awesome togetha >:D

  • The jumi arch was probably my favorite out of the three main arch's in legend of mana. I remember when I first got to the jumi city and this tune started playing, god playstation had some good games back in the day.

  • the Jumi arc was my favorite too. My ultimate favorite character was Elazul, and at the end I always cry. TTwTT It's an excellent game.

  • It's my favorite too. :) And my favorite is Pearl because she's cute. ^^ But her original dark self frightens me a little... By the way, their all named after birthstones. ^^ Mine is Ruby and I'm a Cancer, so I would probably be Rubens. Pokiehl and Daena are great characters too.

I really liked the Faerie arc. The Dragoon arc was rather plain to me compared to others. I'm more into an emotional story than an action-packed one. It just touches your heart and gives it so much meaning...

  • Hmmm... I don't know what Peridot would be, but thats me; I'm a Leo. And I think the Jumi arc was packed full of emotional storyline. Larc and Sierra was sad because they were siblings on either side of a war, and the Jumi are being wiped from existence. The Faeries, I just felt so bad for Daena. T^T

  • What about Matilda, the 7th wisdom? I felt bad for her too... I guess it's more sad though of what Daena had to go through knowing that she's dead and accepting it...

And it's funny, I actually like drama more than action. I like emotion. That's why my favorite Nitnendo series is Mother (EarthBound). Too much action and humor takes out the meaning of an actual meaningful thing. I even like TLOZ: Link's Awakening the best, but I think Ocarina of Time had my favorite characters.

  • LoZ Ocarina of Time had the almost the exact same characters as every other LoZ, only differently portrayed. It was probably my favorite too, because I enjoyed fighting with that Link the best, and the story line was amazing. It really was a new age story line. And I totally get what you mean about drama. I like grinding and all, but if it's just grinding without a compelling storyline, it's not that good of a game. You should play Disgaea Hour of Darkness, it's amazing like that.

  • I already know about it and played it, and yeah, that one is good but I don't know about the other two. The humor is kind of ridiculous though... I mean, really "A horse weiner?! That's dangerous!" That was not necessary... XD The 4th wall break is amusing though, but Metal Gear is probably the best at that. "So you like The Legend of Zelda?" "I see you like to play Super Mario Sunshine! "I will move your controller with my mind alone!"

  • But yeah, that one line Seraph Lamington said changed me for the better. The best games can do that to you.

"There is no such thing as absolute evil or absolute good."

Pita-ten is a good example of that. :) I have mixed feelings for it though. I think Koge-Donbo might be insane. She had so much non-canonical dark humor parodies in the manga. 0_o Like Kotarou killing Misha with a spear and Koboshi killing Kotarou with something else other than apple pie... and Misha's sister Sasha is a bitch.

  • I can stil remember those good times when nothing matter and you could just relax and travel to those mistic lands. Life seemed beatiful and full of hope...

  • Beautiful, thats all I can say...

  • It's kind of funny how this song lightens moods and makes people sad at the same time. I can't help but sway back and fourth to this song...

  • I was going to say I did but I guess you beat me. XP to you Jesse.

  • My niece listens to this song all the time

  • Like an inevitable end to beautiful things and a place that doesn't actually deserve to be ruined... somber... epic end...

  • Comment removed

  • This song is beautiful and sad, for some reason, it reminds me of someone important to me that passed away.... like my dog, Kaja. She was put to eternal sleep a few hours ago.

  • @SonicTheHedgehog17 im really sorry to hear that sonic. i feel your loss man. i found my 17 year old cat in eternal slumber just a few weeks ago. i really miss him. i hope you feel better.

  • @SYCZ Thanks for sympathizing, SYCZ. I already got over it, though. Besides, all animals go to heaven, no?

  • @SonicTheHedgehog17 the rainbow bridge my friend. see you and kaja there.

  • @SYCZ Who knows, maybe we'll meet ealier than that. But, thank you. I hope I can reach it at the end of my road...

  • @SonicTheHedgehog17 you will. kaja will be there.

  • @SYCZ ....bifrost?

  • @WCdragoninja huh?

  • @SYCZ The name of the rainbow bridge you mentioned?

  • @SYCZ no. . its just called the rainbow bridge. its believed to be where the animals go when they die...

  • @SYCZ Let's Envision the Rainbow bridge from pole to pole

  • @WCdragoninja not the norse rainbow bridge...i dont know where the origins reside... its just said in the states when you lose your animal that we will meet again at the rainbow bridge.

  • yea..

  • I just love this song. It is just so sweet and sad.
