  • eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • But dont worry if this plug comes early. Your baby's head acts like the plug...until labour begins :)

  • This plug is so the amniotic fluids dont leak out and also to prevent infections. It's what keeps baby safe from the real world. Soon after, or even at the same time your plug is passed, you may see a "bloody show," which can indicate that labour is just around the corner. A bloody show is not the plug itself...it's a completely different thing where your underwear or toilet paper have a pinkish or brownish discharge.

  • .....

  • Dr. Uldbjerg--did you happen to save this in a freezer? I am looking for a mucus plug for my research. Some of the MDs I have talked to say "oh, that's too hard to get" But there it is!

  • A mucus plug looks different for everyone. It is also called a "bloody show" the colour and consistency can be different and it can come out before your baby is due. This plug is meant to keep out infection from harming you and your baby. If it does come out early do see your doctor so they can check you regularly.

Don't worry healthcare professionals deal with this every day and I have delivered many babies so far this year. Remember blood doesn't occur with every mucus plug

  • I think I lost my mucus plug! It was white/clear and slimy. No bood. is that normal?

  • Well nevermind i guess. I'm now 35 weeks!

  • this is amazing.. God knew what he was doing when he made us :)

  • My wife is happy that she knows now what it looks like at 36 weeks.

  • Well then my baby boy is coming early :( i'm 29 weeks

  • How the hell did i ended watching this?

.....and dude, i will have a realy hard time for a while performing oral sex to my gf after this...

  • I didn't see anything of this kind. My cervix has already funnel and still not having my baby. i am 33 weeks and counting.

  • Mine didn't look like that at all...now I'm confused. I went to pee this morning and as soon as I stepped out of the bathroom I felt something come out down there and went to check and when I wiped It was very mucusy( lack of a better word) and it had a reddish tinge to it. Though thats it, since then I haven't had any mucus...

  • @LaFaye1111 When i had my baby, it did the same thing. I never actually saw the mucus plug but i did have blood, 12 hours later i had my baby.

  • thats how big it is? woooow!!

  • ..... Why... Are you playing with it?

  • Bored => Serchbar => eeww,

    That's explain,

    This is gross.

  • Mines did not look like that! It was white, but this is NASTY!!!!

  • lovely.

  • Well, that's one type of a mucous plug. There are others, and they ain't all that great looking. Thankfully, mine got flushed down the John quickly after me, the nurse and the Daddy looked at it.

  • yuk!!

  • Can you imagine if you were giving a woman oral sex, and then that fell in your mouth?

  • @SgtPiggie HAHAHA thats so nasty.

  • @SgtPiggie That would be rather awkward...

  • WOW WTF ! 0:11 SKULL !!

  • That is by for the grosses thing I've seen, but now that I know what it looks like I know what to watch out for:) thanks. 38wks and counting.

  • that is nasty man

  • I just lost my mucus plug and it looks just like that. I'm having contractions and I'm ready for baby to come.

  • Mommy Can I Eat It??

  • Thank you for showing it, it does really help coz I am very curious what it really looks like if mine is going to unplug, at least now I have an idea. I'm in my 39 weeks now so I think it's time for me to what out for it....this is so informative.

  • im not even pregnant but sometimes i get mucus out of me like that , it is not a yeast infection , but it looks white and very sticky not like cottage cheese , does anyone know wat that can be and is it coming from the cervix?

  • @enaGeex3

It is cervical mucus and can assist you in predicting what is the best time to try for a child. Apparently, there is also stages of this cervical mucus while can really determine the exact day to try for a child. You may need to google this for furthere explanation.

  • @enaGeex3 that is your corpus luteum. that is what carries your egg to your uterus to be implanted...

google corpus luteum and wikipedia for more information

  • Oh my god can anybody tell me why I have might have lost mine already at 31 weeks? I am going to the doctor tomorrow to have it checked out, I am really nervous. I guess this means she will be coming early :[

  • I'm glad I saw this....I am a little disgusted but at least I know what to look for when it happens...I am 8 days away from my due date and my doctor confirmed today that my cervix is completely thinned out and I am 1.5cm dialated......so I guess its a matter of time b4 I meet my little man....yaaay.....Thanks "NIELSULDBJERG" for the video....

  • With my first two girls it came out over a month before they were born. I'm now on my third kid which is a boy and I'm due in 10 days and this mucous plug still hasn't came out.

  • Wow! Very interesting!!

  • wow! i didn't think it was actually a blob of mucus!!! i'm almost 39 weeks, so this should be plopping out any day now! EWWWW!!!! But, this is what I have to do to get my little princess...*sigh*

  • Looks like a big booger!! Im glad i kmo wat it looks like now cause im due anyday

  • LOL @ everyone discussing the "different colors" of their cervical mucus plugs. Disgusting. ;-)

  • ok so alot of u think that was the most discusting thing in the world... but most women have no idea what a mucus plug looks like. and they would go into labor after loosing their mucus plug and not breaking water, and be late to the hospital, or scared something may be going wrong. so you know what? thankyou nielsuldbjerg cause i had no idea what to look for either.

  • eww like i wanna throw up

  • I'm glad I watched this... I'm 8 months preggo for the first time and had no idea what it looked like. I would've probably thought something was wrong with me when that came out of me... Yucky. Why does childbirth have to be so nasty looking? haha

  • looks like smokers flem

  • i wont be eating eggs the same ever again

  • thanks u guys i was wondering what to look for when its time and now i have an idea

  • Oh Lord, it indeed is disgusting, but nice at the same time :P Although mines was brownish and pinkish

  • wow.. its helpful to know what it looks like for first time pregnant(like myself) but EWW! lol

  • Ugh It was nasty seeing someone else's. Mine was a little bloody.

  • eww thats so gross....all the first time pregos thank you though...very helpful

  • so when u start to lose it does it have to have blood in it and also when u start to lose the mucus plug shouldnt labour start

  • this looks nasty but anyways i think ive been loosing my mucus plug

  • that looks like phlem

  • that is so cool!

  • GTFO! what IS that!!?

  • Thanks for posting this! I'm due on Monday and have been losing my mucus plug since yesterday - just wanted to make sure what it looked like! (Ah, the things you learn in pregnancy...suddenly gooey stuff doesn't disgust you anymore) :-)

  • Ugh, think I just threw up a little. SICK. That thing reminds me of when I have a severe cold and what I hack up during a coughing fit.

  • gross!!!

  • oo wee dinner is served

  • Can eat this mucus plug or do you have to throw it away?

  • throw it away

    cant eat it

  • @1CME90 You eat it

  • you can eat the placenta but not the mucus plug. you wouldnt want to anyway. its like the wall that keeps out bacteria so its probably full of germs

  • I remember when I was in labor with my oldest. I went to the bathroom (at home) and as I walked out I sneezed and I told my mom. "Mom I think I just blew out my mucus plug" for sure I did...lmao

  • lol I admit that you guys didnt have to play with it...grosss LMAO but it definately helps to look at how a real one looks so were not confused.

  • I had one of those once. I bought it in a toy store. You can find it right in between the Alien Goo and the Super Elastic Bubble Plastic!

  • It's not a toy. It's mucus to protect from infection during pregnancy. . dumb ass. . .

  • this was so helpful. I just lost mine and came on here to see what one looked like to make sure! Baby is coming soon! EEEee!

  • How do you like your eggs? lol

  • Definitely.. gross man.

  • i wanna barf now.
