First of all the title should not have been india vs china. It should be india and china. Both countries will grow and coexists. And even if India want it cannot adopt the chinese policies for the simple fact that India is a pluralistic country with numerous languages cultures and religion. This kind of society can only grow effectively with a democracy. China's growth and its policies are more controlled by the state rather than by the people like in India.

I think India is going to be the next superpower. As currently, most major countries support India. US technology and clothing business (hold the most in US economy) is rising in India compare to other business going to India. Russia and US both are both realized that China is too aggressive compare to India.

@916ppl most major countries support india due to the truth that they do not believe india will be a superpower in the near future. usa as the only superpower, he wouldn't allow any potential superpower to challenge its position. using india as a tool to tackle china is a really good idea as it will destroy the biggest short-term competitor and long-term competitor to western countries.

China is in the process of transforming it's 80% population WAS rural farmers into soon to be 70+% of the population are URBAN industrial workers JUST LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO *ALL* WESTERN "developed nations" DID thus China will join ranks (like Korea/Japan/etc) of "developed nations"....... unless India does the same with turning her 80-90% population is rural-into-70+% populations are URBAN industrial workers India will stay a poor "3rd world nation".

Also YOU IDIOTS don't get is that China is following the Japan, Singapore, Korea and Thailand model FIRST STARTED by Japan in which the government is HEAVILY involved in the economic development of their countries..... thus Japan, Korea, etc USED capitalism to economically develop but their governments were heavily involved thus now China emulating the model..... the western nations did it too..... LOOK UP "MERCANTILISM".
India needs to follow the model.

YOU IDIOTS don't get it that ALL the "developed nations" INDUSTRIALIZED their societies which means they turned all their farmers into industrial workers....ALL NATIONS DID THIS EVEN RUSSIA......and it is NOT a pretty site when it occurs..... it involves exploitation of those ex-farmers and it's happening in China NOW...... unless India goes thru the industrialization process with it's farmers-into-workers it will remain a poor shithole.

Both China and India are developing so quickly, but the problem with India is that they are not very organized. If you go to China you will see that it is so organized and they have a system that works. In India everything seems so hectic and nothing works properly. They can't even build enough schools for their children. They can't even build a road properly.

@mishrik democracy itself doesnt mean anything.democracy becomes real democracy only when it works for people.india needs to figure out how to design a political system specific to india because india's situation is very different from many other countries' at the monment.india is on the way to sucess,but i think it could do much better than that.politics itself doesnt mean anything.politics is functional only when it serves economy well.india should be less political but more practical.
