Thanks for the detailed review. I just wanted to point out, about your comment regarding this movie having parallels with I Am Legend, that that film was itself a remake. It was loosely based on the novel of the same name, which had at least two previous film versions: The Omega Man (1971, with Charleton Heston) and The Last Man on Earth (1964, with Vincent Price.
