Actually got into Plaid accidentally - I ordered that LFO Frequencies shirt a while back and Warp, an honest mistake, sent me the Plaid Rest Proof Clockwork (with a WAV download of the album) instead. Downloaded the album and now I'm absolutely hooked, astonishing work - more soul than most live music :)

Love it! It reminds me of a darker and subtly more complex version of Chesh, the last track on The Black Dog - Spanners LP... which was actually a Plaid track (being 2/3 of the collective at the time)!

I have been a fan of Plaid and Warp Records for many years. I think they are pushing boundaries. They could very easily do another Double Figure or Rest Proof Clockwork and I am sure people would be happy. But would they be? I think the music is obscure and beautiful here. The video certainly reflects so with a touch of dark. A solid piece of art in my opinion. Every LP they have done has something sort of odd about it. I think they let that oddity out of the bag first. Ready for more.

I was a big fan of Plaid, but indeed this track itself has not impressed me very much. The clip has a cool dark feeling, but I was waiting and waiting but it seemed that it is only an intro of a track and the real music did not want to start at all. Despite of this, i'm really excited of the new album!

I'm sorry, where is the music? This sounds like a bunch of random MIDI notes made after about 5 minutes of smoking a couple bowls. "Hmm this sounds interesting. It sounds almost like music." Shit. This isn't even melodic. I'm pretty sure I could fart into a microphone, chop it up a bit, feed it to the sampler, throw a generic beat behind it.. BOOM! and it would sound better than this

you'll understand maybe one day in your life!! music sometimes can be more than a clear and audible melody, but you need openmind for that, and that's why IDM music in general is not everywhere on radio,tv etc....

though, to me, it's actually the best music a human being can listen to now, with classical music(of course), it's all about communicating emotions!!
